MUA Luxe Zest Velvet Lip Lacquer Review

I have already shared my experiences with MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in three shades – Serene, Tranquility and Criminal. Just recently, I picked two more shades from the same range and here’s the review on “Zest” for you all.

My Experience with MUA Luxe Zest Velvet Lip Lacquer:

The lip lacquer comes in a clear matte tube. It has a golden screw on type cap with the MUA tagline written with black colour. It has a typical doe-foot type applicator which is of good quality. The tube is leak-proof, lightweight and classy. It is made up of good quality plastic and does not seem flimsy.

“Zest” is a coral red shade with slightly pinkish hues. The shade is bright but not deep red. This one has become my favourite shade these days, I am wearing this so much. It instantly brightens up my face along with minimal makeup. The formula of the lip lacquer is soft and velvety smooth. It glides and spreads easily on the lips. Its velvety smooth texture gives even finish. The consistency of the lip lacquer is neither too thick nor too runny.

It dries to a complete matte and transfer-proof finish, but it takes too long to dry completely. It may take a good 5-10 minutes to set to a perfect matte finish. The lip lacquer has an amazing pigmentation. It nicely hides pigmented lips and gives them a beautiful matte finish, but prepping your lips is advisable before applying this lip lacquer because it may cling to the dry patches of the lips and gives them a tacky appearance.

The lip lacquer is waterproof, smudgeproof and transfer proof. This lip color does not feather at all and is long lasting. It lasts for a good 5-6 hours without any fading. After that, it starts to chip unevenly. It does not survive a meal and comes off unevenly with oily food, so touch-up becomes so difficult. It comes off only with a good oil-based makeup remover and gets off easily without leaving any stain behind. Overall, I am happy with the product 🙂
