My Experience with MUA Matte Liquid Eyeliner – Black:
Every time, I bought a liquid eyeliner, it has always turned glossy and recently, MUA launched a few products and when I saw Matte, I decided to pick it. It was like a Holy Grail to me 🙂 The packaging is simple. It comes in a typical liquid eyeliner bottle with a twisted cap. The designs are kept simple too. The name is written on the cap and there is not much information on the bottle.
The product is plastic sealed and I love it! The cap is long and has a long applicator with a silicon tip. Even though the applicator is long, it gives a little ease of movement when compared to an eyeliner pen. However, you can create any thick or thin lines. You can create a flick easily with this liner. The eyeliner is deep black in colour. The pigmentation is very good and is jet black. The colour glides easily and has a good intensity. You do not have to build up the product and one swipe is more than enough to give the necessary pigmentation and intensity. The texture is matte as claimed and creates a matte look instantly and is very smooth.
However, it creates breakage in the lash lines and you need to smoothen it out. The eyeliner stays for good 4-5 hours and does flake out after that. The liner also flakes out if rubbed with your fingers. The eyeliner also has a tendency to settle on the outer corners of the eyes and this can be a little messy. The eyeliner can also be applied to oily eyelids and it doesn’t cause any issue. The eyeliner can also be used on the waterline and it doesn’t irritate the eyes. So, the eyeliner is good for sensitive eyes.
The eyeliner instantly dries up after application and is waterproof and can be removed using a good makeup remover. So, overall it is a good product and considering the price and matte look it creates, I have no issues. The only downside I have with this product is the breaking off in between and I have to run over it to smoothen the line.
