Murad Acne Clarifying Body Spray Review

Murad Acne Clarifying Body Spray Review

Hello everyone,

I want to share an interesting product today, but first let me share my skin ordeal with you girls. I have been suffering from acne all my life and not only my face, but my chest and back area are also not spared.  Over these years, I have tried a lot of treatments and still continue to do so; some products have seemed to work while some have just been a waste of time and money. I have realized that there is no permanent solution for my hormonal acne. Nothing seems to keep my skin clear for long.  As soon as I stop using the products, my acne comes back and after so much effort, I have made my peace with my skin issues. Still one thing I can’t stop doing is trying new treatments. What is the harm in trying, right? My expectations are more realistic now, but I believe there is still hope 🙂 The product I am trying out these days is Murad Clarifying Body Spray. Let us get to know more about it 🙂

Packaging:

It comes in a white plastic bottle with a spray nozzle. You cannot see any product, all you see is another bottle inside. It is annoying that you don’t know how much product is left inside the bottle.

How To Use:

Cleanse the skin thoroughly before applying medication. Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer one to three times daily because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed by a physician if bothersome drying or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.

My Experience with Murad Acne Clarifying Body Spray:

It is the first body acne spray I have used.  Honestly, I bought this product when I saw that the bottle can spray upside down, how cool is that? Someone who has back acne knows how difficult it is to apply treatment on your back area, hence we just end up neglecting our back.  This bottle sprays in any angle you want, it is incredibly easy to apply in all hard to get places. The main ingredient is salicylic acid which I know from experience, works well for me. I use it once a day after taking shower. It has a strong medicinal smell, but it dissipates in a few minutes. On application, the product feels cold and tingly on the skin. I guess it is due to the menthol. It is in a very liquid form, takes time to dry, but I have no issues with waiting 2-3 minutes for it to dry. I used it consistently for five weeks and I noticed my back got cleared a lot. There were no new pimples. I didn’t see any fading of the old scars though.

The existed pimples were slowly getting dry, inflammation was a lot less. My skin did feel dry. I had to apply a good amount of moisturizer. I was a happy camper, I could wear tank tops again, no more embarrassment. Then came a two-week vacation, I didn’t take the spray with me intentionally. I wanted to see if this product was any different from hundreds of products I had tried earlier. My acne was coming back again. By the time I came home, I was back from where I had started. So, don’t expect this one to completely cure your problem. I am still happy with the product as I don’t expect anything to completely eradicate my acne. I am using it alternately with my Neutrogena body clear body wash and my bacne is under control. I still get a few pimples here and there, but I am not complaining.

Pros of Murad Acne Clarifying Body Spray:

  • 360* spray , works upside down.
  • Easy to use in hard to reach areas.
  • Clears acne if used consistently.
  • Packaging is sturdy and convenient to carry.

Cons of Murad Acne Clarifying Body Spray:

  • You have to use regularly to see the results.
  • Makes skin dry.
  • Does not work wonders on old blemishes.
  • It is pricey (but we are getting a good amount of product).

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

I would love to purchase it again, this time on sale though. As much as I am impressed with the ease of application, I don’t like the price point. I feel like I am paying so much just for the special bottle that can spray upside down. I can buy products with 0.5% Salicylic Acid for a lot less. If I can find a way to reuse this bottle, that would be awesome. Until then, I am just enjoying my clean skin 🙂
