Dear Rimjhim, since you are shopping for your trousseau and are not someone who wears lipsticks often, would suggest you to pick soft wearable shades which you would feel comfortable wearing n not feel over the top….MAC chatterbox n MAC lustering are nice wearable pinks. Also, for someone not used to wearing lipsticks, you might want to look at comfortable textures…. For this, try Clinique Chubbg Stick INTENSE…they have great wearable colors n are soft balm like, non sticky. For special occasion/event, you might want to keep one dark red/maroon shade in matte…like MAC Russian Red or Ruby woo. In case, the price points seem a little high, you could check swatches for these online n pick dupes in Revlon/Bourjois, etc.

Hey even I have fair to wheatish complexion so I can suggest from my experience few shades 🙂 Faces Carnation Pink is a beautiful pinkish purple shade also their Hazelnut and port wine are nice brownish nude and brownish maroon shades respectively that suits very well. All the above three are daily wear lippies. You can also try Rimmel London’s Moisture renew range which are superbly creamy and rich in colours; some of them are Rose Passion and Red…Go for bright shades – shimmery, glossy, matte which brightens your face and adds colour; but keep away from frosties since they just wash away your face…

Since you don’t wear lipsticks I would suggest you go for the lip balm stains from Revlon – they give enough coverage and can be layered to give a deeper color based on where you are headed off to. For day time you can use a single layer and for evenings you can use 3-4 layers to give the perfect shade. These are also long lasting so you won’t have to worry about reapplying.
   If you do plan to venture into the world of lipsticks in future then you can surely purchase a proper lipstick – the Inglot round lipstick refills are great as they are available in tons of shades, are creamy, have a nice fragrance, and the best part is they don’t cost too much so they are easy on the pocket as well 🙂
