My First Meeting with Oriflame products

I always heard rave reviews about Oriflame products especially their skin care range, from friends and family members. So, when I recently spotted an Oriflame store I was pleasantly surprised at first because I didn’t know that they had retail outlets. I selected some products from the online catalog and hit the store. What I found out on reaching there is that it isn’t actually a retail outlet but the authorized Oriflame store from where the Oriflame representatives collected their stuff on order. On asking, a very friendly representative told me that I need to “become-a –representative” to fetch products from there even if it’s for personal use. She guided me through the entire process and I became an Oriflame representative!!!  I placed an order for the following stuff:

1) Optimals White Peel off Mask

2) Oriflame Beauty Matt Perfection Brush

3) Giordani Gold Mineral Loose Powder Brush

4) Oriflame Beauty Eyelash curler

5) Oriflame Beauty Nail Tip Guide

6)Optimals  White Night cream (for my Mom)

7) Rebel Body Spray (for my Dad)

8) Oriflame Chiffon Body Cream

I actually went there for product no. 2, 3 and 6 and ended up buying all these because some of these are having whopping discount on them for this festive season. I haven’t used the peel off mask yet, and Mom has just started using the night cream and I think it won’t be fair to comment on it right now. So I will write about the rest.

1. Oriflame Beauty Matt Perfection Brush (Price Rs189): I intended to buy the Oriflame brush kit which I saw in a previous catalogue-priced at Rs298. However it wasn’t available and so I opted for this brush. It is just an awesome brush (well  till now I have had “brush-ups” with only Vega brushes and a Chinese one which is feather soft). The Oriflame brush is just like one I wanted-it has  soft silky and thick bristles, a correct handle length( I find using brushes with long or ones with  stubby handles real difficult to use), and it looks pretty too! Sad Sad Sad!!! The Oriflame giordani mineral powder brush wasn’t available. I was so disappointed because there was a flat Rs120 off on that for this monthL.

2. Eyelash curler (Price Rs129): It is a supercute curler (normally the “machine” looks like a surgical tool but this one somehow manages to look prettyJ ). It’s my first experience with an eyelash curler and I was pleasantly surprised to see how it makes my lashes look girly-n-curly.

3. Rebel Body Spray (Price Rs149): It has a masculine fragrance, not different from the commonly available AXE or Gillette but the quantity (75 ml) could have been moreL. Nothing much to rave about.

4. Oriflame Beauty Nail tip guide (Price: Rs49): These are the strips for French manicure. It’s hard to find French manicure nail strips at our place and I find them always coming with a full manicure set. Also it said “last time in catalogue” and so I decided to try one. I like the semicircular ones but don’t know how to use the V shaped onesL. There are 20 semicircular and 20 V shaped strips.

5. Oriflame Chiffon Body Cream (Price Rs349): This is the product that made me happiest-in its quality and quantity (250 ml). It says it’s made in Poland (my fav German footballer is also from Poland J) and is a dream cream-soft smooth with a beautiful mild flowery fragrance-makes skin satin soft and the softness stays for long. It comes in a cute round tub big enough to last at least 2 months with daily use. The original price is given as Rs449 but with this month’s offer it came for Rs349.

Recommendations: Oriflame Chiffon Body Cream (4+/5), Oriflame Beauty Accessories (all 3+/5), Rebel Body Spray (2/5)

I am not serious about being a real representative-but then being one has certain benefits if you have such an authorized outlet nearby. For example you get certain percentage discount on the catalog price..well that is supposed be the share of profit for representatives, and I got a total discount of about Rs250 (on catalog price) on purchasing stuff worth Rs1000. Ain’t that great??? Also no weeklong wait for products to arrive and you can see some sample products on display in the store and have an idea of their quantity (no after-purchase-shock J ). You also get feedback on products from other representatives-this helps a lot in “blind-shopping”. If I buy any Oriflame product in future, I hope to pick them up directly like this.

  1. I loved the packaging of the Oriflame cream..is such a round tub 😀 😀 somehow looks very cute 😀 I don’t have an eyelash curler..am so scared of it I never buy it and walk around with these atrocious unruly eyelashes :-((

    1. Hehe..”atrocious unruly lashes” 😀 😀 ..well I have met only a few people who have lo-n-g n thick eyelashes like Victoria’s secret models-my lashes are ya-ok types but a good mascara definitely makes them look better n fuller-and this curler gives them good curves if not curls :-))

  2. Hey Anuradha… Congratulations on becoming an Oriflame representative!
No doubt it’s products are awesome 🙂 and have always suited my skin as well… Since you are new to it, I would like to recommend the Oriflame Kajal that has already been reviewed at IMBB and the Visions Peach Me Perfect foundation 🙂 Am in love with both! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:
Plus you must also for sure try out the Fire, Ice and Air Perfumes from Oriflame.. The Fire fragrance sure is something to die for :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Good luck with your entrepreneurship with Oriflame 😀

      1. Oh Yeah! I have used Fire and Air for 3 years now! Ice i haven’t tried.. but by going with the faily (fire and air) i am hoping that’ll be good too 😛

  3. And nice bit of info on Oriflame at the end of the post 🙂 🙂 I was wondering for a while now whether to sign up for Avon because I buy stuff regularly and I have to wait to get them from my friend…signing up directly is so much better…:D

    1. Yeeahh!! if there is an oriflames tore-its worth the time and effort to go n fetch stuff for yourself..whats more I found the AVON store just adjacent to it

  4. never been a fan of oriflame
the deos suck… the roll ons are sooo sticky, even the smell isn’t that great. among all i prefer rebel… i had rebel, eclat, glacier etc etc…. they all sucked !!

    1. Rebel and Glacier are for guys i guess… though Smita you must surely try out the fragrances.. especially FIRE.. it’s pocket friendly and most importantly smells like a dream 🙂 :inlove:

    2. Yeah i know they are for men 😛 i use mens deos.. i find them more appealing that girly flavours.

I will definitely give FIRE a try… is it a new one ? Because i used to buy oriflame like 2-3 years ago and i never heard of FIRE

      1. lolz! one of my cousin also prefers men’s deos 🙂 😀 😀 😀 😀
and nah! FIRE isn’t really new… i have been using it since quite some time…. It’s a red colored spray in a tarnsparent bottle with a red cap….
but then the catalogues are generally so filled with products it’s very easy to miss out 😉

        1. oh wow! thank u so much Smita 🙂 this’ll make my day 😀 :kissing: :kissing: :kissing: :kissing: Could i compel you to follow it? ?:-) ?:-) ?:-) 😛 😛 😛 😛 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎

        2. oh wow!!!! thanks smita!!! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

  5. I agree Oriflame products are good, but they should allow online purchase also…….oriflame reps here are way pushy and I often get miffed with them and do not buy what I want from them 🙁 🙁

    1. Yupp..that happens!! actually online or catalog shopping always comes with these side effects-if u get good stuff-deal!!!..else..dunno..it simply gives me a bad mood all week long:-D

  6. hi all…. m new here and already loving this site…. gr8 wrk rati n team  and i love all ur smiley collection a lot :-*

nice review anuradha…. and its true better to buy it ourselves than thru dealers…. i’ve used the peel off mask for around two times now and it has been good…. do try n post ur review 🙂 will try out the body cream….

jomol…. if u r a representative then u can order it online too… i’ve not done online ordering b4 but have called up the store and ordered… usually it comes within 3/4 days… and i agree even i’ve bought stuff just because the reps/SAs sound so convincing 🙁

  7. Congratulations Anuradha! I’m an oriflame consultant too :handshake: But I couldn’t get my hands on the french tips, it was out of stock! Believe me, the oriflame body cream is very smooth, easily gets absorbed & smells wonderful!

  11. I agree Bhumika! I tried to get Giordani beauty Bag, the say its out of stock! I guess before we order something , people working at their office stock them up & sell them to their dear ones! :-X

  12. Nice haul Anuradha… Enjoy the products..

I have the Giordani Gold Mineral powder Brush and I love it..

Do get it even if it’s not on disc next month.. Totally worth the price!!!

    1. Ya Mrunmayee..and its itching me more because the giordani brush came for Rs 179 in this month (as a representative I could have got it for around 160 bucks)..while it normally costs Rs 298.. 😥 :pain: :pain:

  13. Hi anuradha,
i too became oriflame representative last month m i already hv few products from ur list.

    1) Optimals White Peel off Mask (got it yday)
    2) Oriflame Beauty Matt Perfection Brush (my 2nd product from oriflame)
    3) Giordani Gold Mineral Loose Powder Brush (hv ordered 2 this month due to the discount 1 for me n 1 for my lil sis)
    4) Oriflame Beauty Eyelash curler (My 1st ever product from oriflame that too thru Ebay had bid for d 1st time coz my sis wanted this for herself, won then bid again for myself nxt time)
    5) Oriflame Chiffon Body spray (yet to get)

Am ordering from a representative here. she takes my orders n her hubby delivers it to my office.

    1. Hey Hey Hey!!!! We have all stuff we ordered in common!!!!! Means-I dint strike too wrong a deal being a first time customer of Oriflame :-))

  14. wow all stuff are great. too bad we don’t get oriflame here 🙁 btw the nail tips are really cool. Other than seche vete i haven’t seen any other brand have it.

  15. Lovely Haul, Anuradha and congos on becoming a representative. The only that I had ever ordered from oriflame was the lash curler. And it was out of stock that month. 🙁

I liked the french manicure strips. Very innovative. 🙂

    1. Hey Rati thanx!! 🙂 The eyelash curler is real cute-and useful too!!! It was bit of an experimentation for me this time with Oriflame and I looked up for a bit unconventional things in the catalog-that I may not find in regular stores..thankfully all of them turned out to be quite nice :-))

  16. I like some of their products very much…….i use their make-up remover, toner, foot creams & soaps & love all of them.

I don’t like their deos though, nor does my hubby…….so we stay clear of them…..for winter pampering creams , nothing beats Nivea for me!

  17. Hi, I became a rep for Oriflame recently too, I got their lash curler, the aloe vera soothing cream, the grape anti-oxidant cream, the eye pencil in navy blue, the foot cream and 2 cute hippo soaps for my son :D, nice to read what else you guys recommend, thanks. Anuradha please do a review on the face mask when you can, thx 🙂

  18. Hey Anuradha,
if one becomes a consultant is there any condition that she has to buy goodies worth a price every month?

    1. I dont think so-but I guess you needa do it to make “progress”- add points that is-purchasing stuff adds points-since I joined only to enjoy the representative discount I havent bought anything since october-but would be buying this month coz there are some great discounts 😀 😀 😀

  19. I had been searcing for nail tip guides like crazy, i can’t find any 1 selling them online or in the stores. i ordered from an oriflame agent and she told me it’s no longer available. that is so bad … .i hope they bring them back…
For some strange reason i can’t find any french manicure kits online either …out of stock evrywhere

  20. I’ve been using these products from Oriflame for quite a time now and I got no need to change them. These products are absolutely fine and work well for any type of skin. For me it’s quite tough to choose a cosmetic. Because my skin is a little sensitive….I have to be very cautious before I zero down on one product. But these products seem to me absolutely fine for a sensitive skin.
