My Shopaholics Haul

Once upon a time (actually just past weekend) a princess…set out on a journey to find a good face wash. She went to a great big store called Mustafa Center, where you can find everything under the sun starting from curry leaves to gold jewellery and foreign exchange. But she just needed a facewash, so she went straight to the cosmetics section and…my oh my….poor princess got lost. Just couldn’t find her way out of the congested, alluring aisles of all things girly! And thus her journey to becoming really poor started as she came out with 2 big shopping bags.

While she has vowed to not buy a single thing for the next whole month, please let her show off her goodies to feel better. And she trusts you lovely ladies will help lessen her buyer’s remorse by complementing each and every thing….even if you don’t like it!!

Let’s open her Pandora’s box. And sorry for the crappy pics, it had been raining and cloudy the whole w/end, didn’t get a good light. But you still get the idea.

1) A black dress.
The dress has a wrap-around type of waist, that gathers around the left side of the waist. Perfect to hide my tummy FLAB! In the picture the white print looks electrifying, literally. But looks very delicate and feminine in real.

2) Silver chain necklace with a big stone pendant and a white stone studded bracelet. It’s a set. Goes nice with the above dress too. But I’d prefer it with something more blank.

3) Shoes – One wedge heel beige color slip-inn pair and another snake-skin sandal.

Now on to the cosmetics.

1) Avalon Organics stuff looked so yummy that I was going to rob the store. But damn those CCTVs!!

They are soap free, parabens free, certified organics and not overly pricey. After I test these I’ll go for more of their prods.

2) Masks – I’m obsessed with masks nowadays. They really do give a facial effect and are very economical.

• Watson’s bird’s nest+rice bran kit – 4 serum tubes and 4 masks. It was a steal for about Rs.370 on sale
• Beauty Buffet Charcoal and cypress mask
• Activa line – Divine firming mask, Brightening mask, Peel-off oak-charcoal mask and Condolisa revival mask.

3) Others – Funny how a facewash that I wanted in the first place, ended up in the others category.

• Garnier bright eye roll-on
• Himalaya Neam foam wash
• Acne-clear calamine-sulfur lotion
• Palmer’s cocoa butter SPF lip balm
• Lip-ice strawberry SPF lip balm
• Golden Rose gray hair touch up stick (curious about this, looks just like a lipstick, comes in different shades to match the hair-color)
• Ellips hair vitamin capsules (contains vitamins and SPF and provides the shine, to be used just like a leave-in conditioner)

So that is it for now. Will review these after I form opinions about them.

HUsshhhhh! Now the princess feels better.
Thanks.

ther’s no perfect shape as such dear….we can find something flattering for our shape if we look hard enough. the fabric, cut, length are some things to look for.
me got that dress coz it camouflages my postpartum tummy well. Go ahead n find wat suits ur type. :waytogo: :puchhi:

      1. i have gone to mustafa center in singapore once. As you said one can find everything there, but the place was too congested then. Well it was three yrs back.

  3. :thanks:
the light is not doing justice to the snake-skin
Curious abt the charcoal masks…have heard good things abt it :waiting:
n that Hair color touch-up stick works like a magic….never seen it before.

    1. the pack says the serum in the capsules has vitamins and SPF to protect and add shine to the hair. Break the capsule n apply like a leave-in conditioner. They wer pretty cheap …

  4. shopping always makes you feel better :methinks: ..n more so if they contribute in making you feel like ” princess ” :mirror: … am really curious bout all those masks nand the lippies :inlove: :inlove:

  5. Geeta this is such a fun post..I enjoyed reading it. :)) I’d love to do a skin care haul too…Avalon Organics is a line I’ve been wanting to try, starting with their moisturizer! :))

    1. where do we get it in India? I’ve read moisturizer is not that good compared to their other products. They have another line called ‘Alba Botanica’ which is better in performance. Let us know when u buy something from these two.
      n thanks!! :shy:

      1. Geeta, sorry but am not sure where. :-/ I see Alba Botanica here also- along with other natural product brands like Jason, Nature’s Gate, and a few others, though some of them are a bit expensive. Will do! :))

        1. i came to know after the Filipini blog announcement, that u r in fili. So probably u wudn’t know where to get those in India.
But gr8 that u get alba-botanica there….i tried to find in singapore, not easy to get. wud u be a darling n send some of the alba-botanica stuff to me in singapore if i absolutely don’t find it here. I guess shipping will b cheaper than US in case i order them online.
Ive tride Nature’s Gate mannny times in India as well…..its good but nothing great. N drawback is they come in big packs, so hard to finish if u don’t like it.

          1. Right. 😀
Sure Geeta. :)) There’s a chain store here called Healthy Options which is the only place I know of that sells them. They don’t have a product list on their website, so you can just let me know which product/s you want, then I can check if they’re available at the store. Then later I can get a shipping cost estimate at the post office. I’ve never tried mailing parcels to India before, but to the US I have and they arrived safe and sound. I can’t remember the exact amounts they charge, but shipping here is by weight and can be a bit costly for heavier stuff though. You can email me at idalorena at gmail dot com, if you like. :))
I’ve tried one Nature’s Gate product, the lotion. So true what you said. Gave like zero moisture. I gave it to my dad.

            1. :spank: :spank: for giving the lotion to ur dad coz u didn’t like it…..naughty!!
