My Skin Care Routine for Well Moisturised, Healthy Skin

Skin tone: Medium with yellow undertone
Skin type: Normal-Dry

Hi! 🙂

How are you all? I have never done a post like this before, hence I am kinda nervous. I like to keep my skin care regimen sorted – with simple products that show good results. I have normal skin that tends to get dry at times. I have no issues with my skin at the moment, but it used to be very dry and lifeless a year back. Also, last year I developed some blemishes on my rather spotless skin, but I am yet to figure out the cause for I never even get breakouts. Anyway, at the moment, I am following this sorted and simple regimen, take a look.

My Skincare Routine for Well Moisturised, Healthy Skin

Cleanser : I love all the products by Aroma Magic. Hence, I am using this Aromamagic Strawberry Facewash which I picked up recently. I love the fresh, fruity fragrance of this one and how well it cleanses my skin. Since I do not have any major skin concern, I don’t mind this humble face wash. But, I do plan to shift to some new product, which can help me cure my blemishes.

Scrub and Face Pack:

natural products for skin care

I cannot tell you how much I love this AromaMagic Mineral Glow Scrub. This scrub has astonished me! Its micro scrubbing particles are so gentle yet you can feel how well they exfoliate your skin. Another thing I love – it does not dry out my skin. My skin looks radiant and super clean every time I use it. With this scrub, you have full control over how harsh or soft you want the scrub to be.

Aroma Magic Mineral Face Pack Detoxifying Mask – I pair the scrub with this face pack and it is also one of my favorites. It too cleanses my skin deeply. I use it once a week and this pack actually keeps my skin so clean, fresh and healthy.

Toners : I love toners a lot and love to use one especially after removing my makeup. Toners refresh my skin instantly and prep my skin for other products.

At the moment, I own two toners. Za True White Toner – this one is a lightweight toner that adds a nice radiance to my face. I use this one mostly in the mornings as it keeps my face fresh throughout the day, but don’t go for it if you mind alcohol.

The other one is The Body Shop Pomegranate Invigorating Toner; this one is also a great toner and cleanses skin very deeply. This one feels more potent on the skin. I feel it rejuvenates tired skin quite well and tightens the pores too.

Moisturisers :

Day –

Za True White Emulsion – this one is so light and is just perfect for every season except super dry winters. With continuous usage, it makes skin radiant and very healthy. I totally recommend this one.

Night –

the body shop oils of life

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Essence Lotion – Not a must-have, but I use it because I love its fragrance and because I use the oil also from this range. It helps my skin absorb other products better.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil – I have already told you all how much I love this oil. It has made my skin very very healthy. My skin behaved very well throughout the winters and stayed moisturised. If you are new to facial oils and if your dry skin hasn’t been behaving well, go and buy this one today!

Eye Creams :

best eye creams in india

Aroma Magic Under Eye Gel – this is my go-to eye gel for it’s so light and keeps the skin around my eyes healthy. It also reduces the occurrence of dark circles and puffy eyes to a good extent.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eyes Cube Refreshing Anti-Fatigue Eye Stick – since I work a lot on laptop, this one has become a must-have for me. It keeps the skin around my eyes cool and moisturised, just as it claims.

Makeup Remover :

lakme makeup remover

To be honest, I rely on natural oils – like coconut oil, olive oil and castor oil when it comes to removing makeup, but I recently picked this Lakme Absolute Bi-Phased Makeup Remover up to get free shipping from a website. 😛 It removes any makeup very well, yes even stubborn waterproof mascara too. I am glad I picked it up. One cheap and efficient product!

Lip balms:

lip balms

Of course, I keep changing my lip balms but at the moment I am using these – The Nature’s Co. Green Apple Lip-Pop, The Nature’s Co. Coconut Lip-Pop, Lotus Herbals Lip Therapy – Cherry, Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment and The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm (forgot to click this one). The Nature’s Co. lip balms are my most favorite from these, especially Green Apple (that’s how their packaging looks so worn out :D).

Product I Keep Going Back to:

Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water

kama ayurveda rose water

I cannot live without this one! There always has to be one big bottle of this rose water in my refrigerator. Again, since I work on laptop a lot, my skin needs to get revitalised after every few hours. So I keep spritzing this on my face and it hydrates and soothes my skin so easily. I especially use it after removing my makeup as it calms and soothes my skin.

Kama Soap Free Cleanser : I know a lot of people do not get this product, but I love it. Rati’s review will tell you why you need it!

Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel : You know how much this one is admired. So many mini reviews at the end of its the review on IMBB say it all!

Johnson’s Baby Skincare Wipes : I know I might be depriving many babies of such precious wipes, but I hoard them. Like crazy! These come in so handy especially when I am travelling.

Stiefel Physiogel AI Lotion : This one is gold for dry skin. This lotion has changed my skin’s condition a lot and this is the reason how my very dry skin became normal. I do not use this lotion as often now, but have to keep it near.

Boroline : You know it’s a saviour, right? I find it just perfect for dry, rough feet.

Lotus Sunscreens : Since I mostly stay indoors, I do not focus on sunscreens but I ensure I have a nice layer of a good Lotus sunscreen on each time I go out. My absolute favorite one is Lotus Herbals Daily Multi-Functional Sun Block SPF 70. This one prevents tanning and sunburn to a great extent.

So this is how I keep my almost dry skin normal during all seasons. Of course, I try my best to maintain a healthy diet and drink lots of water throughout the day. Now my only concern is the blemishes I have developed over time, and I am going a consult a dermatologist regarding that. I hope my routine will help you create a skin care routine too as per your skin type; believe me, a good skin care routine, even a simple one, helps in improving skin a lot. 🙂

  8. Thanks a lot for this post Shikha. I have normal to dry skin as well and it was great to know what you use. I use Kumkumadi facial oil and it has helped my blemishes. I have heard that these blemishes are brought on by lack of proper sun protection and mine have lightened after I started using the Kumkumadi regularly and got serious about using sunscreen. And Yes! I love the Soap Free cleanser from Kama too. Not only is it gentle, it is such a breeze to travel with.

    1. Thank you Suchitra. I absolutely love Mridul when I am travelling. I am also interested to try out Kumkumadi, but planning to visit a derma first. Will take better care when I go out in the sun. 🙂

And also I cannot live without this Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose Water. This is the best rose water. Do a hair care routine like this 🙂
