My Experience with NARS #42 Blending Eyeshadow Brush:
I have been using this brush for months now and just can’t get rid of it. It’s this gorgeous versatile blending brush from NARS. It is a matte black brush with fluffy round bristles.
The brush feels so solid and classy when you hold it. It’s a light and a long brush..almost feels like an artist’s brush. It is very similar to MAC 224 brush, but this one is a tad bigger. I find it a bit big for my eyes as a blending brush.
I mostly use it:
- At the very end of my eyeshadow application to blend everything and make sure that there are no harsh lines.
- To apply powder all over the lid before I start my eyeshadow work.
- To apply powder underneath the eyes to set the concealer.
- To even apply concealer.
- Just as an overall wash of one color all over the lid. It’s a great go-to brush because it applies the color lightly and with a few strokes, even diffuses to give a seamless application.
This is a “natural bristles” brush. It is quite a soft brush. I have washed it a zillion times already and it has held its shape and the bristles have not shed.
The only drawback I feel is that since it is quite a long brush, some people might find it too long, but I quite like it. I feel the long handle totally works for a brush that is pretty much meant to diffuse the eyeshadows. It keeps you very light handed while application of the products. I rarely ever do my makeup without this one now. It has definitely replaced my MAC 224 brush because of its better quality. Highly recommend it.
