Nars Blush Highlighter Duo in Orgasm and Albatross

Nars Blush Highlighter Duo in Orgasm and Albatross

Nars is known for its blushes, said to be the best ones and the iconic “NARS Orgasm” is
regarded as the perfect blush for all complexions. The blush and its dupe has been talked about a lot in IMBB.

Nars Blush Highlighter Duo in Orgasm and Albatross

When I saw the Nars Orgasm Albatross ($41) being sold online, I got lured into buying the set.

Product Description:

Perfect pairings for imparting the quintessential NARS glow. Each duo pairs a signature blush shade with the universally flattering Albatross Highlighting Blush Powder.

  • Silky texture.
  • Micronized powder ensures soft, blendable application.
  • Universally flattering shade pairings heaviness on the skin

albatross

Orgasm is the blush with cult following status. It is said to be the perfect natural enhancing blush. Rati has reviewed it here.

In my opinion, it’s a very good blush, maybe not that much worth its hype because it might not necessarily be that much visible on some darker Indian complexions unless applied heavily. Also, since it has many cheaper dupes easily available, it can be given a miss.

I think this is the perfect blush when you are going for matte smokey eyes and want to keep the face simple and chic.

Albatross is a lovely gold white highlighter. I really love it for the fact that most other highlighters available are usually for cool skin tones and hence have a silver sheen rather than a gold one, perfect for our Indian complexion. Like all Nars blush textures, this one is very finely milled, hence does not look clunky or glittery once on. You only need a little bit to highlight the target area. It needs good blending to look like “lit within.” One can also apply it over a blush to give it additional golden glow.

Swatch

The texture is great as ever for all Nars blush, very smooth and blends out very naturally.  I love the fine silky powder that makes my skin look smooth and really healthy.

Like all Nars blushes, it is really pigmented, so a light hand is advised.

To sum it up:

Pros of Nars Blush Highlighter Duo in Orgasm and Albatross:

  • Orgasm shade great for most skin tones.
  • Very pigmented.
  • Color buildable, you could go very sheer to a pretty nice blushed look.
  • The quantity of the blush lasts very long.
  • Blush stays on up to 6-7 hours.
  • Albatross perfect for warm Indian skin tones.

Cons of Nars Blush Highlighter Duo in Orgasm and Albatross:

  • Expensive.
  • Albatross might look too shiny if not blended well and applied heavy.
  • Not easily available in India.

Conclusion:

I love Nars blushes, matte or shiny, all of them are great. Orgasm is pretty good, but people with darker skin tones should try before buying as it might not show up well on their skin color.  Albatross is really good for Indian skin tones, perfect for Indian brides.  Although, its not available in India, it can bought online, but you have to grab them before they are gone.  Overall, this blush/highlighter combo is a decent purchase.

  1. With all the hoopla around Nars blushes I was expecting it to be a more “IN AWE” & 5/5 kind of review …thank u for this refreshing perspective! :))

  2. Hi, Girls I am an active reader of your posts. :pompom: :pompom: I really love your work. :pompom: :pompom: Rati keep up the good work. :happydance: :happydance:

  3. I think their blushes are a hit and miss, I had one in the shade Mata Hari and it was OK, not worth spending £21 again. Never again. But other’s talk highly about it so I guess it’s the wrong shade that I picked up.

  4. Hey nice post 🙂 personally I think certain nars blushes are over hyped ..i’d rather get the dupes which cost like $5-6 instead!!
