A you all know I recently did a haul of 5 Nars Audacious lipsticks. Here is the review of the shade Jane.

My Experience with NARS Jane Audacious Lipstick:

Packaging:

Very sleek and classy black tube with a secure magnetic closure. The word Nars is etched on the side of the lipstick. All the lipstick tubes look exactly similar and you can only know which shade it is, by reading the label sticker on the underside of the tube, which is kind of a con for me as I tend to grab my lipstick on the go and sometimes end up picking the wrong shade and only realizing later when I take it out for touch up.

Shade & Finish:

The shade “Jane” is described as a Terracotta rose. To me, it looks like a very beautiful burnt orange-copper which will look very flattering on all skin tones. It has a creamy finish which is not too glossy but definitely has a sheen. The sheen tones down within 3-4 hours of wear, but the color remains intact and turns into a satin/semi matte finish. It does not have any shimmer.

Texture & Pigmentation:

This lipstick goes on very smooth like butter. Probably one the creamiest lipstick I own! It goes on with full color in one swipe and it feels very comfortable on the lips. It does not bleed or settle in fine lines.
Since it is so creamy, there is a lot of transfer on cups and glasses, which might be an issue to some but personally that doesn’t bother me much. Even with transfer, the color stays intact for a good amount of time.

Staying Power:

Staying Power is really good. I can get a good 6 hours wear with this lipstick but I do a need 1-2 touch ups during the day to keep it looking fresh; especially if I have eaten something. It can survive through snacks but may not survive through a whole meal especially if the meal is oily.

Feel on lips:

It feels very creamy and hydrating when initially applied but it does dry out the lips little bit especially as the day wears on and as it starts to become more matte. But I usually don’t encounter much of this problem as I do tend to do a touch up after a few hours mark which tends to fix the dryness.
It does leave a strong stain behind on the lips. It does not have any unpleasant scent.
Overall, an amazing product which delivers all the best qualities which I look for in a lipstick. Very impressed with the quality and this shade is definitely my favorite and the most unique color in the bunch. I highly recommend this.

Pros of NARS Jane Audacious Lipstick:

• Very creamy texture
• Very good pigmentation, full color in one swipe
• Goes on evenly and smoothly, without tug
• Does not settle in fine lines
• Does not accentuate dryness of lips
• Good staying power
• Leaves a tint behind as it fades

Cons of NARS Jane Audacious Lipstick:

• Expensive, but so worth it. If you have to splurge on any lipstick this should be it.
• Transfers a lot.
• The stain on the lips is little difficult to remove.
