NARS Kelly Audacious Lipstick Review

I read about the fantastic reviews of NARS Audacious lipsticks since the time they were released on IMBB and out of it too. I just had to try out some of these shades, and recently purchased a few beautiful shades online from the NARS website. This particular shade “Kelly” is one of the ten beautiful shades, which are available only on the website and at Barney’s. When I saw the shade “Grace,” the name Grace Kelly immediately came to my mind. And I wondered whether they have the shade Kelly too, and they did! Though it is only available directly at NARS stores and website; and at Barney’s.

My Experience with NARS Kelly Audacious Lipstick:

Packaging: It comes in a standard matte black box NARS packaging, on which all details are written. Inside, the lipstick case is square shaped, where the top and bottom parts close with a magnet click. The brand name “NARS” is etched outside on the lipstick case, as well as on the bullet inside. The bullet is a standard one, with a pointed tip.

Shade: This color is described as a coral hibiscus shade. It is a coral-pink shade, and has enough yellow undertones to suit my complexion. The shade is quite close to the shade Grace, except that it has more coral pigment compared to Grace. Overall, a shade to suit all complexions.

Pigmentation: This shade is very richly pigmented, and one swipe gives full color on the lips.

Texture: I found the texture to be quite smooth and comfortable on my lips. It was neither too drying nor too hydrating. It does not bleed or feather at all. It does not dry out the lips and does not sit on or emphasize the lip lines.

Staying Power:  It lasts around 5-6 hours on my lips, with light snacks in between. It does transfer a bit, but not too much. It leaves only a light stain on fading, so you will definitely have to reapply after a full meal.

• Unavailability of NARS in India.
• Unavailability of this shade in most of the stores.
• Expensive.
• Transfers slightly.

Yes, the hype regarding these Audacious lipsticks is definitely justified. This shade is beautiful and will suit all skin tones. If you get your hands on it, do not hesitate even a bit… Just grab it.
