NARS Lip Liner Pencil – Jungle Red Review

Hey Lovely ladies,

How is everyone dealing with this cold? This winter is going insane where I live. The temperature was -8*C today and it was much worse last week when it went down to -13*C. I keep remembering the days when I used to sulk about “Delhi ki sardi.” I am such a cry baby when it comes to cold, I don’t deal well with winters. Anyway, today I am here to share with all you lovely ladies another amazing product that I got a few months ago and have been using it quite often to bring some color in to these gloomy days. I am talking about this lip liner pencil called Jungle Red by NARS.

Product Description:

Ultra rich color in a creamy formula that perfectly defines the lips while preventing lipstick from bleeding and feathering. It is available in 11 color-coordinated shades that correspond with NARS lipstick hues.  * Richly pigmented * Smooth application.

$22 for 0.04 oz of product.

The lip pencil comes in a black cardboard box like all the other NARS products.  The bottom rim of the pencil shows the color of the product. A black plastic cap protects the pencil. The cap is tight enough, does not come off while travelling. I don’t know why but the dust just sticks to the packaging of all the NARS products, they end up looking so dirty.

My Experience with NARS Lip Liner Pencil – Jungle Red:

I love wearing red lipsticks and for a perfect long-lasting red lip, I use this lip liner as a base. It is working out great and this has become a staple for me. As with all the other lip and eye pencils, this one needs frequent sharpening if used on a regular basis.  The shade is a gorgeous deep red. It is a matte shade but still it is not drying on my lips. If I apply it on well moisturized and exfoliated lips, which one should always do before wearing any matte shade, this stays on for a long time without drying or settling into fine lines of the lips. The texture is smooth and creamy and glides easily on the lips. The pigmentation is intense; you get a beautiful rich color with a single swipe.

It gives a velvet matte finish and lines faultlessly without bleeding or feathering around the lips. This lip pencil has amazing staying power. Sometimes, I use just this liner to fill in my lips; it lasts for about 7 hours on me. My only qualm with wearing it alone is that it transfers a lot, but I guess it is okay as most lip products do transfer. I blot it with a tissue and reapply and it stays put the whole day.
