How have you been? I have been on & off IMBB for a very special reason. I participated in our ‘Spring India Fair Fashion Show’ and it was like a dream come true for me. Well, the show came out really well; I successfully got over my stage fright. Needless to say, I feel more confident now and am keen to walk the runway again & again, with my heels, of course.

I don’t know why I have always shied away from heels, but my perception has totally changed after the show. Oh yes, I learned a lot from fellow ‘experienced’ models; they helped me make it to the finale apart from sharing their beauty and fitness secrets. Anyway, coming back to shimmers, I have this shimmery primer for you from NARS today, which was my go-to product all through the show. I feel I am getting hooked on to this primer. My Experience with NARS Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15:

The primer comes in a black, sturdy and opaque tube packaging with a flip top cap opening. It does have a subtle fragrance but nothing worth mentioning or to be bothered about. Overall, I totally like this travel-friendly and small tube packaging.

Firstly, I love that the primer is oil free and it does not feel like most of the silicone primers, pretty much to my relief. Oh yes, the primer almost feels like a lotion, owing to its spreadable white-gold consistency which gets easily absorbed into my skin. It does not leave any waxy residue, like other typical smoothing primers. The white fluid soon settles as rose gold shimmers on my skin, but they are absolutely undetectable in pictures and/or in person from a certain distance. I like the fact that the primer never sits on top of my dry patches or slips into the fine lines. So far, I find it decent for my pores.

I totally love the divine glow the shimmers impart on my skin; the glow looks really luminous on its own while it definitely enhances the shine and wear time of my foundation without hampering the color pay off of my makeup. How cool is that! I have worn this primer several times in the past week for almost 8+ hours and still my skin would look clear and blemish free; needless to say, it is absolutely suitable for every skin type. I say so because it neither makes my skin look excessively oily nor dry over the period of time.

I did notice a bit of shine on my T-zone after 6-7 hours of wear time, but I am pretty fine with it as my face makeup was intact for several hours. Talking from my experience, I wore it on the first day of my show in the morning around 7:30 am. I topped it with Make Up Forever Face & Body Liquid Makeup and it totally made me look like a shining diva with just a hint of powder touch up till 7 in the evening. Moreover, I walked outside apart from joining the indoor event, and I didn’t find any shiny or shimmery finish on my skin; there was just a natural glow which my fellow attendees and/or models talked about.

In fact, I carried the primer to my show for the big day and the MUA applied this primer along with heavy makeup on my skin. By the time the show started (around 2 pm), I was glowing like a diva (as per the spectators :D). Even the MUA and the fellow models enquired about the primer as they were impressed with the performance. I wore heavy makeup around 10 in the morning and my makeup still managed to look fresh and glowy even when I reached home in the night.

I was a bit worried about shimmers initially, but the primer came out so well in pictures under bright flashing lights. Hence, I can totally vouch for their claims, which are 100% true. And I didn’t notice even a single break out in these two days of heavy makeup sessions and on other occasions either. Needless to say, I am definitely considering this as my HG primer for future events and for photo shoots. I am quite confident to wear it off camera as well as it just makes my skin glow.

• Suitable for every skin type
• Neither too greasy nor overly drying for my skin
• Does not emphasize fine lines, open pores or dry patches
• Does not cause breakouts
• Enhances the staying power of makeup
• Doesn’t affect the coverage of my foundation
• Can be worn alone or under makeup
• Packaging is quite travel-friendly and light-weight

Cons of NARS Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15:

• Not as good as other smoothening primers
• Does have shimmers

Well, I don’t think we need to be concerned about the shimmers as they are barely visible but I agree we might get a similar primer in lower price range. Nevertheless, I would love to continue with this primer for special occasions and for events.
