So I love NARS a lot and all their lipsticks are bomb. So I decided to ask my friend to send me their lip balm which is the sheer lip treatment lippies. I have a love and hate relationship with this product. I wore it for 4 continuous days to test how it really works and here are my thoughts…
Price: $25 (I got it for INR 1700 excluding shipping charges)
Shelf life: 2 years
Ingredients:Octinoxate, Titanium Dioxide, HeptylundecylHydroxystearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Polyethylene, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polybutene, Beeswax, Microcrystalline Wax, Diisostearyl Malate, DimethiconeCrosspolymer, C10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters, Aluminum Hydroxide, Octyldodecanol, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, IrvingiaGabonensis Kernel Butter, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Tocopherol, Glycerin, Methicone, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Linseed Oil/Palm Oil Aminopropanediol Esters, Bht, Tetradecene, RibesNigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Dimethicone, RubusIdaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Silica, Water.
Packaging: NARS does an amazing job when it comes to the packaging. I love the plain old black and simple packaging they have from years. Other than the packaging being super cute, let me tell you that the lip balm is not huge. It is tiny. Not very tiny but not like how it seems in the pictures.
Texture: The texture is creamy, heavy and some people could find it a little greasy like I did. It feels soft when you swatch it on the hands but I had a little different experience when it came to the lips.
My Experience with NARS Pure Sheer Lip Treatment Greta SPF 15:
I have really dry lips during the winter and I love me some nice lip balm. When I first wore the lip treatment balm on my lips it felt greasy. It felt so heavy that I wanted to take it off right away. But I still kept it on and over time it was fine. The next day I wore it, it felt little creamy instead of greasy but it still was too heavy for me to handle.
Even though I have dry lips I do not like lip glosses or balms or chap sticks to be heavy and sticky. Another thing I noticed was that, they have about 6 colours the last time I checked on their website. But only Bianca (clear one) is in stock for now. I got the shade Greta and it is this nude pink colour but sadly it did not show up much on my lips. I wanted this to be my go to lip product on the days I wanted to avoid lipsticks but it didn’t work that amazing for me.
The good part is that it has SPF and some people might like that it has a heavy consistency. The reason I am going to continue to wear this is because, it cost me a bomb :P, It stayed for 3 hours on my lips even after eating, it did moisturize my lips and did not dry them out once I stopped wearing it and lastly because it has SPF (I live in a sunny place). Also, it doesn’t have a strong fragrance which is amazing.
Pros of NARS Pure Sheer Lip Treatment Greta SPF 15:
• Creamy texture.
• Moisturises the lips.
• Contains SPF.
• Stayed for 3 hours on the lips.
• The packaging is super-duper cute & classy.
• Travel friendly.
• Less fragrant.
Cons of NARS Pure Sheer Lip Treatment Greta SPF 15:
• Too greasy and heavy.
• The colour doesn’t show up much (I would suggest you buy the clear one instead)
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5.
I have used better lip balms and lip treatments before but without SPF so if I want one with SPF, this is my go to currently. But I doubt I will repurchase it because it is a little costly!
