Hope all of you are doing great and enjoying weather around; we are shivering with a throwback cold rainy season. Lol! It is raining cats and dogs here since a week. We had plans for a girl’s night out, but this rain seems to be drowning the whole bay area along with our plans. Anyways, my today’s purchase is definitely not an after-effect of the rain storm but a lovely outcome of “vellapanti” done a while back 😛 Though I am yet to love myself in such shades, still I like it for being a NARS Satin lipstick. So let’s read more about it.

My Experience with NARS Satin Lipstick Rosecliff:
The lipstick comes in sturdy and sophisticated black bullet packaging with a tight-shut cap. It does have a mild fragrance which is insignificant to me. Overall, I am pretty happy with its simple yet classy, travel friendly packaging.
My shade “Rosecliff” is described as a rosy pink shade which is true to its description as it comes up creamy rosy pink on my pale skin tone with subtle shine. I feel that it might be bit tricky for warm skin tones and may look washed out. It complements my face with heavy eye makeup, but the truth is I am still not comfortable with such rosy pink/peach/beige shades. I don’t know why I feel myself feverish and dull to pull such shades sans makeup :P. So guess it is not for me but fair/light Indian beauties who are totally into neutral, rosy pink lip colors would love to own it anytime. I say so because I am impressed by its creamy, shiny texture which gives nice light-weight, close to medium color pay off on lips. I see that often these shades come up way sheer and patchy irrespective of brand name and hence Rosecliff is an exception.
It does not feel very soft while applying on lips though I am surprised to see it delivers comfortable smooth finish on lips forgiving mild dryness and pigmentation as well. Hence I wear it over well-scrubbed and hydrated lips because lighter shades often highlight lip flaws unlike the bolder shades (as per my personal experience), but it is good that it does not emphasize them further.
I do not notice any feathering issue with it and it doesn’t settle in my lip lines either; it looks pretty smooth and non-cakey even with multiple swipes. I feel pretty soft lips as long as it stays on my lips though the staying power is pretty decent with 3-4 hours of wear time.
Pros of NARS Satin Lipstick – Rosecliff:
• A warm rosy pink lipstick with creamy shiny finish.
• It does feel stiff upon wearing but it won’t dry lips or aggravate the issue further.
• It has a decent hydrating formula.
• It provides sheer to medium coverage with no cakey finish.
• It won’t emphasize or settle in lip lines either.
• It does not look patchy or streaky on lips.
• It is neither overtly creamy nor drying to make us uncomfortable with finish.
• The formula comfortably sits on my normal dry lips for decent 3-4 hours with no dryness issue or feathering.
• Pretty sophisticated and travel friendly packaging.
Cons of NARS Satin Lipstick – Rosecliff:
• The shade is tricky for me.
• The staying power is pretty average.
• Pricey.
