NARS Taos Blush

My Experience with NARS Taos Blush:

The product comes in a rubberized matte packaging, which houses a decent size mirror inside. It’s the classic NARS packaging and I love it. It reminds how much ELF has tried to copy their packaging.  Taos is a described as dessert rose on the NARS website. This is a rosy red shade with fine golden shimmer. I have a medium to tan skin tone (NC42-ish) and I have a thing for peachy, coral blushes because those shades enhance my warm undertones and looks super pretty than other shades.  Taos is one such perfect shade to compliment my skin tone. The golden shimmer in the product gives a soft sheen to the cheeks. It would be visible only if you look up close.

NARS Taos Blush

Taos is a super pigmented shade that I literally just need one dab of brush on the product to pick enough for one side. Initially, I swirled my brush on the blush and it picked up too much product and gave that super dark clownish look. The trick is in tapping off the excess product from the brush before applying it on the cheeks.

Dark skin beauties who have trouble with blush showing up on them would love how effortlessly this product builds and shows up. Even if you have dark skin, I would suggest to slowly build the color and not to apply all at once. That way, you will have control and you can avoid looking clownish.

NARS Taos Blush

It gave a warm glow to my cheeks and it makes a perfect summery shade. I love to wear it with coral shade lip products. It would look wonderful with nude and red as well.

NARS Taos Blush

I wear my blush sheer. That way, it stays for 5-6 hours on me. If you wear it more intensely, you can obviously improve the staying power, but if I have to compare it with theBalm Instain blushes, the staying power is little less. But for a powder blush, the staying power is definitely good.

Though the price is on the higher side, this blush would last you for ever, so it’s totally worth it!

Pros of NARS Taos Blush:

  • A very pretty rosy red shade with golden shimmer.
  • Highly pigmented blush, truly a little goes a long way.
  • Softly milled and silky to touch.
  • Can be used on all skin tones.
  • Blends very easily.
  • Good staying power.
  • Just a dab goes a long way, product would last for a long time.
  • Will work on a wide spectrum of skin tones.

Cons of NARS Taos Blush:

  • If not applied carefully, it can make you look clownish.
  • Swirling a blush on the products makes it powdery.  I wish they had packed it tight enough.

Final Verdict

I am totally in love with this shade and I am enjoying it every day.  If you are planning to buy a new blush, do check this out.

  1. This shade has been on my wish list. I keep avoiding picking this up coz i have its dupe in MAC and how many blushes can a girl actually use!

  2. I know what you mean about the super pigmentation. I tried it at the counter and was like, whoa! But it’s a beautiful color. It looks like on your skin tone. 🙂
