My Experience with NARS Translucent Light Reflecting Pressed Powder :

When I first picked up the NARS pressed powder, it reminded me of the MUFE HD Powder that I used years back. A quick difference if I have to make between the two powders is that NARS powder adds a bit of healthy glow (not shiny) to the skin and MUFE powder would mattify the skin. So the NARS powder is suitable for all skin types and the MUFE is absolutely great for those with oily skin. Although I have to mention that this NARS powder also reduces a bit of shine on the face and gives a healthy glow to the skin skin I wouldn’t term it as a mattifying or ‘setting’ powder. It’s more like – you have finished your makeup and you want to add that extra bit of finish to your skin, you use this.

I took a looong time to really understand what it was doing to my skin or if it was doing anything at all. The finish is like creamy-powdery. It is a very very very smooth powder. It’s almost like a pearly finish powder. It looks white in the pan but does not show up whitish AT ALL when applied on skin. It makes my pores look a bit smaller, skin look a bit smoother and my glow look a bit better. It’s like a little real life photoshop that you can do with your makeup. πŸ˜€

I had a bit of struggle with what brushes to use with this powder. The super soft ones did not work because they could not pick up any powder. So I use it with a slightly coarse brush (not harsh but not the feathery soft ones) and it works great with this. It works great when applied with cotton pads and sponges. Just roll and press the powder on your skin.

The powder does not have any fragrance to it and it never broke me out.

It stays on for a reallly long time on my skin. Since I have dry skin, products stay on my face longer anyway. This made my makeup looking fresh for good 6+ hours. It does not make my face shiny despite it having a pearly finish. It adds a tad bit of a glow, which I love.

It comes with a luxurious black pouch and a white sponge. There is a big mirror attached. I never use the sponge but it’s a great stuff to carry along with you for touch ups and keep your skin looking super nice all along. πŸ™‚

An absolute must have.
