Natio Contour Palette Review

I wanted to try out The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer and The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, but then I saw this palette and bought it instead. I am not really a fan of Natio makeup products, but since there is no other review of this product (as it a new launch, even in Australia), I thought it would be helpful to you all.

how to use

My Experience with Natio Contour Palette:

outer packaging

Packaging:
It comes in a big cardboard packaging, I was expecting the palette to be big as well. But only the outer packaging is big so that it can accommodate the brush too. But, I am not complaining as the palette looks so cute. Along with a free brush, this palette contains a mirror. All the details are printed on the box and there is a “how to use” pamphlet too. So, even if you are a beginner at contouring, you can make out the ways the use it.

The palette itself is black in color, it contains all three shades and the mirror. It is travel friendly and sturdy. The brush has two ends – one for contouring and one for highlighting. It is a nice brush – very soft and applies the products well. I specially like the highlighting brush as it gives good precision.

packaging

Texture:
The powders are so…well…powdery. You do need to focus a lot on blending otherwise they won’t look flattering. There is a lot of fallout on the palette when I pick up the products with brush, but the products do not create any mess when I am applying and blending. These powders are silky soft and do not feel uncomfortable. They do not irritate the skin.

shades

The highlighter has micro shimmers that blend very well but you need to work on it. The shimmers are not chunky and do not look gaudy. But, I prefer this highlighter more during night time or for parties. This shade does not look very pretty on me during the day, I don’t know why.

Shades:

contour kit

Dark Contour Shade –
The shade is matte. This shade is the lightest ever brown and it works well if used with a light hand. It does not look stark or fake on my medium skin tone (with heavy yellow undertone). It creates the much-needed shadows on the face, making my face appear chiseled (much needed!). I do not like this shade when I apply it with a heavy hand though as it starts looking orange.

contouring brush

Medium Contour Shade –
This shade does not add much to the palette, if I talk about my skin tone. It can be used as a blusher, but it does not add a natural glow or flush. It is super matter and does not flatter my skin tone. It is a beautiful neutral shade but does not show up well on my complexion. In fact it makes me look 2-3 shades darker, which I do not appreciate at times.

highlighting brush

Highlighter –
Now this one is a beautiful highlighter. But I feel it is too warm for this combo. But if used separately, it looks gorgeous on me, especially with my ethnics. This is ivory in color and contains micro shimmer that blend like a dream.

Staying Power:
This is the most disappointing part about this palette. This product does not stay at all without a primer. It stays on for hardly 3-4 hours, which is not sufficient for me. Even over long staying foundations, these powders do not stay at all. The staying power could be increased by layering this over cream products, but then that doesn’t make much sense to me.
