Natio Moisturising Lip Balm SPF 30+ Review

I am a backpacker. No luxury buses or taxis or shuttles to take me around. Almost all of my transportation is by public vehicles and foot. That directly translates to extended sun exposure and so the small SPF (15 or at maximum, 20) laden lip balms won’t suffice, that is when I found this gem from the Australian company “Natio.”

Natio Moisturising Lip Balm

Product Description:

A conditioning balm with broad spectrum sun protection to moisturise and protect lips.  Moisturises and softens lips. Water resistant for up to 4 hours. Protects lips from harmful UV rays.

My Experience with Natio Moisturising Lip Balm SPF 30+:

Texture and Hydration: The balm is an ultra-soft formula which glides like a dream over lips. My lips become instantly moisturized and have a silken glossy sheen on them. It has got Vitamin E to soften, smoothen and repair the skin and aloe vera to moisturise, condition and calm and they both seem to be indeed doing all that.

Staying Power:  Sadly, it lasts for not more than an hour after which I have to reapply, doesn’t last in the sense my lips feel like they could do with some balm on them. But I guess that’s okay considering we do have to re-apply sunscreens also often and this is not difficult compared to applying sunscreen on your face or body. All you have to do is open, twist and apply.

Sun Protection:  But since the main reason I bought them is for their sun protection, I think I shall talk about that now. It has got all the essential sunscreen actives abundantly, so it is great when you are spending your time out in the sun. Though I initially bought this keeping my backpacking trips in mind, I have now decided to use this for my daily routine as well. We give our skin high SPF laden sunscreens, then how can we ignore our lips and then complain that they are pigmented? Poor things!

Fragrance:  The Natio brand incorporates aromatherapy into its products and that is very evident in this lip balm. It smells very lightly of a mixture of essential oils which is not one bit strong on my sensitive nose.

Packaging:  The tube is thinner-than-average in size and comes in a translucent plastic which shows the cream colour of the balm inside giving it a calm and dainty look. It’s your typical roll up and down twister tube.

  1. Your review was so precise and on point! Loved it! I too ordered a few Natio lip balms. Eager to lay my hands on them! 🙂

  2. I had tried the shea butter one but that was a big fail for me. Never did anything for my parched lips. I found the Nivea one to be better than that. Glad this one works for you.
