How was your weekend? Mine was very dull and boring, and to top it all I watched Besharam. OMG, its such a sorry excuse for a movie – I wonder if Ranbir Kapoor was blackmailed into signing the movie…otherwise how would you explain Rajneeti, Rockstar, Wake up Sid, Barfi, and then this movie? I was almost about to walk out during the intermission 🙁 Stay away from this one I am telling you!
Anyhow, coming on to the review….its for The Nature’s Co. Irish Moss Sugar Body Scrub from their Aquaspark range.
Price: Rs. 1295 for 200ml
Irish Moss Sugar Body Scrub contains Brown Sugar which is a natural exfoliant and also rich in Irish Moss Extract that has natural emollient, soothing, and nourishing properties. In the shower or bath, spread the scrub over your entire body. Rub into skin to exfoliate and then rinse well. It will leave you feeling smooth all over and the refreshing fragrance of Irish Moss will liner on. Use 1-2 times a week.
Is tub packaging the ‘in thing’ these days? Almost all products, especially skin and hair care come in these big tubs that are so unhygienic! The tub is made of plastic and really big, so not travel friendly at all. But it has a nice wide mouth and another lid to prevent spillage which is nice.
My Experience With The Nature’s co Irish Moss Sugar Body Scrub
I have moderately dry skin all over my body especially knees and elbows and really dry hands and feet. Therefore I am always on the lookout for good scrubs that won’t make my skin very stretchy. I spotted a few scrubs in The Nature’s Co. Store and the SA was kind enough to make me sit and give me a demo for all of them. So, she used 4 different scrubs on each of my hands and feet to help me get a better idea of the texture and effects of the scrubs – and gave me a nice good massage with these too! Really sweet of her right?
Out of all of the scrubs I thought this one made my skin the smoothest and because I could literally see some kind of oil and the sugar granules in the scrub I thought this would work best in moisturizing the skin as well. So, this is the one I got.
A little bit on Irish Moss – it is an algae from the Atlantic Ocean that is supposed to be very high in chlorophyll and is harvested for its nutrients and its emulsifying abilities. One of the most interesting characteristics of Irish moss is its ability to produce mucilage when immersed in water (especially hot water). This slimy, slippery byproduct can make skin remarkably soft. These characteristics play a vital role in regaining the youthful properties of hair, skin and nails.
The product has a very aquatic, seaweed like smell that is refreshing and invigorating. It is very easy to spread and scrub with and washes off in a jiffy. I can actually see and feel the sugar granules in the scrub and there is almond oil in it that moisturizes the skin really well.
Effects: I am loving this scrub out of all the scrubs that I have used so far. The sugar granules are just big enough to nicely scrub the body without being too harsh. It removes dry, flaky skin and dead cells very well and has made my skin very soft, supple and radiant. My salon lady also said that it has reduced my ingrown hair and that has helped in a better and less painful waxing experience too!
Pros of The Nature’s Co. Irish Moss Sugar Body Scrub :
Has sugar and Irish Moss as active ingredients which are great for making skin soft and smooth. On top of that contains Almond oil as well for moisturizing the skin.
Makes skin super smooth and soft to touch and scrubs away dead skin effectively
Easy to spread and scrub and wash away. The sugar granules are just the right size! I have even used this a day after waxing and it hasn’t caused any redness or rashes.
Economical as the biiig tub and will last for a long time and a little goes a very long way.
The smell is very refreshing.
The almond oil in the scrub is excellent for moisturizing the skin even while the scrub is in action. I have not seen this in any other scrub.
The Nature’s Co. has all natural products
Cons of The Nature’s Co. Irish Moss Sugar Body Scrub
The only grudge I have with this product is – I have to scrub really quickly once I have applied it to my skin. Otherwise the sugar granules melt away too fast on moist skin.
The tub packaging can be off-putting to many people
I don’t like the W/S Base and Natural Preservatives and Food colors that they have mentioned in the ingredients list.
4.5/5 – deducting 0.5 for the big bulky tub and also because the sugar granules melt away too fast and I can’t massage it for a very long time.
I am really loving this scrub because it is very moisturizing and scrubs really well. I don’t know when I will finish this tub so not sure if I am repurchasing it or not as I get tired of using the same products for a long time 😀
However, I would definitely recommend you to buy this if you have dry, flaky skin and need a gentle scrub that moisturizes at the same time.
Hope you liked the review. Have a great day everyone. Muaaaah!
