Nature’s Essence Sun Ban SPF 40 TPI-90 Sunscreen Lotion Review

Hello beauties!

How are you all keeping? I had been held up with fests and tests. Today’s product to review is a sunscreen from Nature’s Essence. I had finished up my Lakme sunscreen and was in a need of a substitute as I did not like the performance of the Lakme one much. I found this one interesting and hence, grabbed it. Let’s see how it fared.

My Experience with Nature’s Essence Sun Ban SPF 40 TPI-90 Sunscreen Lotion:

The packaging is pretty simple. The product comes in a bright yellow tube with a flip cap. Usage and carrying it is pretty convenient. This one with SPF 40 is enriched with almond and geranium oil.

The lotion is lemon yellow in color and has a pleasant fragrance. The fragrance wears off after sometime, but still stays on mildly for longer. The lotion is lightweight on skin. It gets absorbed after getting thoroughly rubbed. The texture is not at all heavy and greasy, even though it claims to have oils. It induces a slight glow after application that lasts for a while. I apply it 15 minutes before stepping out in the sun. As soon as I enter the sunlight, my skin starts to sweat. I tried applying it on the face and it just makes me sweat like anything! So, I avoid using it on my face and restrict to other exposed parts as I am not sure if it is recommended for face or not.

It claims to be waterproof, but I did feel like I needed to reapply it after I washed my hands. I could sense some sweating even after washing my hands, but I still felt like applying it again just to make sure. It is partially water proof or just say water resistant may be due to the presence of oils.

My arms are very much prone to tanning and with this scorching sun, they don’t stand a chance. I do cover them up while I am riding, but it does not completely prevent my arms from tanning. This lotion has helped protect my skin from tanning and I can see the difference when I am using a normal lotion without SPF and with this one on. It lasts for almost half a day and protects my skin, after which I feel I need to reapply. There are no claims of the lasting power or anything, but it has fared well on that part. I liked this so much over the Lakme one on most terms. Lakme one’s smell was intolerable. I am extremely happy with this, but I wish it came with UV filters too. Overall, it is a good buy.

  1. I`m using the loreal 20 + cream for sun protection – I hate sunscreens for their oily nature. Have to go back to using them … This looks good – apart from the sweating part. The cream looks like the filling of a lemon tart.yum. 😛
