NEST Fragrances Rollerball Trio: Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum Review

Hope all of you are doing fine! I am quite excited to share another gift with you all, which came as a pleasant surprise to me from my hubby. My hubby had been to Boston a couple of months ago and luckily his flight got delayed while returning home 😛 That’s when I suggested him to check duty free shops; however, I was quite sure that he would only pass the time and never shop if he didn’t have a list, but I was wrong as he did shop and came back with a handful of designer gifts for me 🙂 This NEST fragrance set was one of those impulse purchases he did for me. Gosh I was shocked, as he never does that. He never told me what made him to do that, other than saying “why don’t you enjoy your treat rather than bugging me like Sherlock Holmes!” Anyway, I am so excited to talk in detail about this gift, so let’s start with NEST Indigo, Midnight Fleur and Dahlia and Vines Eau de Perfumes today. 🙂

Price:

NEST retails 0.27 Fl Oz (8 ml) each of individual Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur roller ball for $25; while I received 0.20 Fl oz, (6 ml) each of three roller ball in one set costing $10 as per my hubby claim, I have no proof though 😛 . But, I can believe him considering he bought two sets, which is only possible when he gets it for free or on sale. 😛

Packaging:

These individual perfumes come in plain transparent glass bottle packaging with roller ball packaging. Personally I like spray perfumes, but “gift k naam pe kuch b chalega” 😛 . The packaging is nothing fancy, though I am head over heels for all these roller balls. Considering their teeny cute design I am quite determined to pack them in my cabin and luggage both.

My Experience with Nest Fragrances Rollerball Trio: Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum:

Well I am not very passionate about trying different fragrances, though I adore smelling nice. Honestly, I never invest my money in fragrances, since I always get too many fragrance sets which will last me till eternity. Now after getting these NEST fragrances I actually started developing a taste and particular choice for fragrances. Let me tell you all three fragrances are apt for matured chulbuli gals, with no old wise lady feel at all 😛 . It can be worn by everyone irrespective of season and occasions, though it is personally your choice! My most favored one is Dahlia & Vines for its really sweet rosy smell, which is not too strong to bombard your inner sense; and overpower your peace of mind and nose at the same time.

I often rub it on my pulse and smell it occasionally for heavenly rose and sweet smell. I definitely love sweet rosy smell and this is the reason I always pick this Dahlia & Vines while going out or for my daughter’s classes. Since, it is mild for day time; while lingering on for long hours fading onto really sweet and floral notes, which totally define me; a sweet and romantic gal in a matured way 😛 lol. I feel it is apt for any day time function and/or get together when we don’t want unnecessary attention and just be our self. I would not call it girly, but it definitely reminds you “abhi to main jawaan hu” you know what I mean 😛 . I guess it can be sported by anyone being a college chulbuli, matured gal, a married working woman or mom; for everyone. I find it perfect for desi-videsi mix avatar irrespective of season. It’s probably what I would like to sport with my Indian-western fusion dresses, like- stylo chudidaar kurtis, dhoti pants or ethnic woolen kurtis all year round.

My second preference always goes to this sexy Midnight Fleur, which seem perfect for romantic evenings and hang outs. I can smell woody vanilla note, which is prominent after few hours of wearing it with initial mild musky smell, which is again way mild to be described as nauseating. I am quite comfortable wearing it throughout the day during my shopping sprees or my gal’s classes, as it is pretty strong to turn heads around while you move around, without frowning your admirers with that strong alcoholic nauseating fragrance.

I find it pretty strong for first few minutes there by fading onto woody musky aroma, which is occasionally recognizable by neighbors around, while lingering on for additional 2-3 hours revealing its mild woody and musky vanilla notes to you with every movement and sniff. I feel it describes pretty romantic, confident woman who knows that whole world is “fidaa” on her moves and latke jhatke 😛 . Gosh! I don’t know how true it is, but I feel exactly same while sniffing it and feeling through my senses. Definitely my most used fragrance after Dahlia & Vines. I would like to keep it for my upcoming wedding invitations, to sport it with heavy lehenga and silk sarees to impress my saasu maa 😉 . My only concern is that it does not last for more than 4-5 hours on an average.

And my lesser used fragrance, but certainly not a dud is Indigo, which is too sexy and hot to my liking 😛 . At first I felt as if someone is smoking around me and I am inhaling those passive smoke lol. But, it’s not exactly that nauseating irritating cigarette smoke the moment you wear it, but after few minutes of settling down you get that strong smoky notes, which seem quite similar to passive smoking smell somehow, which slowly transforms into slight alcoholic musky manly note; which are unexplainable for me and whatever it is.

I would seriously not like to smell as if I just secretly puffed on a cigar or dropped alcohol on myself 😛 . I save it for our weekends when we literally make best use of vodka and wines 😛 (no smoking though). It is way strong and might be loved by today’s younger generations to conceal their actual smoking/drinking plans from parents 😉 😛 . But, it is definitely not my type of fragrance, especially when I am visiting my in laws 😛 .

Overall, I would definitely recommend these fragrances to everyone for their long lasting smoky flavors and mild floral notes. If you are sweet and romantic gal then opt for Dahlia & Vines or Midnight Fleur, else Indigo totally defies that smoky musky flavor for a twist.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of NEST Fragrances Rollerball Trio: Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum:

• A smoking hot Indigo Eau de Parfum which lasts 3+ hours with subtle smoky notes.
• The sensuous Dahlia & Vines blows out our senses with heavenly floral, sweet smell, which lasts throughout the day.
• The complimenting Midnight Fleur parfum is a must have for Indian get together and wedding functions.
• All fragrances are quite mature, yet full of youth to sport that smarty stylo Indo-western look.
• The lasting power varies from 3-8 hours on an average.
• They usually don’t stain clothes or irritate my skin when worn directly on my pulse or behind neck.
• None of them smell alcoholic or nauseating over all.

Cons of NEST Fragrances Rollerball Trio: Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum:

• The staying power could have been better than 3-4 hours for Midnight Fleur.
• I personally prefer spray perfume for hygiene and ease.
• Well apart from these cons I don’t think I have any issue with these cute bottles or their smoky hot flavors.

Would I repurchase NEST Fragrances Rollerball Trio: Indigo, Dahlia & Vines and Midnight Fleur Eau De Parfum?

I would certainly get Dahlia & Vine again, though I am not sure about Midnight Fleur. Indigo is not my type, so I won’t get it again.

IMBB Rating:

Personally I would give 4.5/5 to Dahlia & Vines Eau de Parfum, 4/5 to Midnight Fleur and 3.5/5 to Indigo Eau de Parfum. However, these fragrances are solely personal choices and hence priorities and taste may differ from person to person.
