Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub Review

Product Description:

Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub doesn’t just fight blackheads, it helps eliminate them for clearer, smoother skin. This gentle scrub immediately works two ways to not only clear out the blackheads you have now, but also to help prevent new ones from forming.  First, you will feel it tingles as its maximum strength acne medicine, Salicylic Acid, penetrates deep to eliminate blackheads by removing stubborn dirt and oil trapped inside pores.  Then, you’ll feel its gentle, skin-soothing micro beads exfoliate without overdrying to help stop blackheads before they start.

Blackhead Scrub

I think its time I focus a bit on sharing what I use for my skin as well (this is for you Jomol as you haven’t tried this one yet).  I have oily skin prone to acne and with open pores and the Chennai heat and humidity had worsened the situation, not to mention the havoc in rainy season when all the “chip chip” will be my partner all day long.

This state can be worsened when I use foundations, powder, blush and even though I may like to go light on it, psychologically, I always fear a break out.  After marriage, I have gone through an infection that I picked up at a bad parlor and hence I insist none of you let any metal instrument touch your skin at the parlor, be it on your face or your cuticles, unless you are doubly sure of the sterilization process they use.

My skin loves mild scrubbing. I know the thumb rule of scrubbing just once a week is fine by the book, but I think on days I wear makeup, its my duty to scrub it clean with something mild.  I hate the scrubs with apricot and walnut shell  powders and oh my God, how I dread the abrasive effect they would have on the surface of my skin.

After the St. Ives Scrub and Ayur Strawberry Scrub, I think this is my HG scrub which I can use without any guilt of overdoing.  Like you can see, the scrub has some orange, round granules and tiny white granules concentrated enough in the entire scrub. The base itself doesn’t feel like soapy, but rather creamy and mild and that’s how I like. It can be a little slippery for some, but after all, its better than having flaky skin after scrubbing.

The scrub foams very mildly, not much.  I use it for a minute every alternate day and on days that I wear makeup.  Since the grains are tiny, I feel that each pore of the face is being individually cleaned as compared to the large abrasive scrubs that we have (just psychological).

I have used this tube up and I am going to buy some more.  It also has a fresh mild citrus smell that I don’t mind at all.

Since I have been using this regularly, I can say that my clogged pores have reduced up to 75%, occasional pimples aren’t so bad and overall, I love the soft feel of the skin after using this scrub.

Last Word:

A nice concentrated yet mild scrub for daily use for sensitive, oily or acne prone skin.  This scrub leaves the skin soft, reduces clogged pores, and skin is visibly clearer for me.  I recommend this scrub to mild scrub lovers only!
