My Take on Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cream with SPF 20:

This is my first cream from the Neutrogena brand, therefore, I was a little skeptical as well as excited to use it. I started applying this cream regularly after bath and before heading to work.  I have mixed reactions about this cream.  It is a little creamy white with thinner but not running consistency. After application, I feel it makes my skin look oily and little bit on the greasier side.  Though it is fine later after I use my compact, but otherwise, my face looks a little oily, like it does after using a sunscreen.  I have normal skin and my previous cream “Olay White” used to make my face look better!

I think due to SPF, I cannot really use it as a night cream, else it would have been best suited for that purpose 😛 On the other hand, I don’t really mind the greasy feeling as long as it moisturizes my skin and makes it soft and that too without any chemicals like parabens. Since only a tiny bit is required to cover my face, I think this cream will go a long way.

Pros of Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cream with SPF 20:

  • Nice, light smell.
  • Moisturizes my skin well.
  • Does not break me out or cause any irritation except when it comes into contact with the eyes.
  • Does not contain harsh chemicals like parabens.
  • Added advantage of SPF 20.
  • Contains healthy white complex which comprises of essential soy, stabilized vitamin C, vitamin B3, portulace.  Vitamin C is known for its antioxidant properties.
  • Decently priced.
  • Dermatologist-recommended product.
  • Easily available.

Cons of Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cream with SPF 20:

  • Makes my skin greasy/oily on application.
  • No ingredients list on the tub.
  • Irritates eyes if it comes into contact with them accidentally.
  • May leave a white cast if not blended properly or applied in an excess amount.
  • Tall claims though I didn’t find any improvement.

Do I Recommend Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cream with SPF 20?

Definitely but not for oily-skinned beauties.

  1. this might sound scary but i have tried so many products on my face in the quest for that perfect skin and now i have realized the success of a product is when any particular product doesnt break me out or make my skin dry or has any other adverse effect  i would have loved to have tried this product but I wont..also luckily me a combinaion skin type so it wud not have suited me in any case ..whew!! so relieved..

    1. hey Aruna, I tried this one….I have a combi skin and felt this broke my skin….so presented it to hubby boy 🙂 me happies…atleast one thing out of my list. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  2. Yes Aru…finding that perfect cream is a never ending quest… :scream: :scream: :scream: I really expected it to be an effective one as Neutrogena seems to be a promising brand…but disappointed… :smug: :smug:

  3. i have used a few products form this range and nothing has shown any visible results. This one still sounds decent. Nice and detailed review. :))

    1. Thankooooooooo Rati…. :teddy: :teddy: :teddy: seriously after reading the detailed ingredients list I was totally shocked with it performance….. :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

  4. Thanks for the review, Tara! 🙂
I’ve had a bad experience with most of the neutrogena products I’ve used, this included. 🙁

      1. This morning I’m in a silk sari and fasting Aru   ….so having tough time in office refusing all chatter-patter eatables    and my tea…….. :waaa: :waaa: :waaa:

  5. Personally, the fine fairness range doesn’t suit me at all. The under eye cream actually made my eye area stretchy :((
But I am absolutely in love with Neutrogena sunblock and the oil-free moisturizer.. (not from the fine fairness range) :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. By now Ramya, I think I have come to believe that there must something off-beat in this fairness range stuff else why wud so many of us have the same disappointing view…. :shame: :shame:

  6. Hey yesterday I bought this cream…It has shiny effect on my face…
I dint find any xtraordinary thing on in this cream…but u can use this product as foundation…plust it wont harm your skin as foundation does…so this is a plus point for me…
    nyway suggest more..coz m a cosmetic lover..nd i try different brands on my face…

  7. Well, I hv had a very bad experience with this cream. It does leave the face with a very white & oily cast, that is very unnatural. And after a while my mum says it makes my face look dark!!! which I also feel is right :(.
It did not improve my experience in any season, whether summer, winter or rainy season.

Also, the worst part is that it always stings my eyes, no matter how carefully I apply it.
So i gave it to my mom, and she also ended up “crying”, teary eyed, every time she applied it!!!

But I really like their Dry Touch Ultra Sheer sunscreen with SPF 50. 🙂

  8. my skin is very oily also acne ..i have tried this cream bt after apply on my skin my skin look so much oily n dark where as my skin is fair ,,actually dis cream not good at all my money jst has spoiled to buy dis cream..

  9. My exprience with this cream was not good. After using it for like 5 days (only morning before i go out) i saw this very small rashes like in my entire face. It was so visible and started itching.
This was not my first time using neutrogena product. I had tried its moisturizer and toner. They never created any problm.
