Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF25 Review

I hope all of you are having a good day, and getting enough sleep. With time zone difference, I guess the time I am writing this review at 2:00 in the afternoon probably means it is bedtime for some of you out there on your side of the planet. I live in the U.S., specifically in the Midwest part of the country. And for those who travel internationally like I do, I am sure you can relate to how difficult it could be to adjust your biological time clock every time you pass the international dateline. And always, sleep deprivation is ever present.

But when there is work to be done (or parties or functions to attend to), us women must simply be strong and just bear it! But that does not mean that our faces have to show that we can still use a few more hours of sleep. Nothing breaks a good look than having tired-looking eyes and black under-eye circles. Thank goodness for eye primers and brighteners and concealers.

My take on Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF25 :

The product that I am currently using at the moment (out of necessity and accidental but pleasant discovery) is the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector. I know that is quite a mouthful of a name for an eye highlighter or primer but I personally think that it describes what the product expects to deliver.

Neutrogena is not a new name in the skin care industry and although not a personal top favorite of mine, I am okay with the brand. Neutrogena’s Eye Perfector comes in a pen-like wand with a cap and a round end, which twists and dispenses the liquid primer/highlighter via the tip of the brush at the other end of the stick. I like that there is an attached and ready brush for applying the product but I personally prefer blending it using my fingertips.

Neutrogena’s Brightening Eye Perfector comes in 4 different shades: fair, buff, light, and medium. For a Filipina, with a warm skin tone, I chose the light one since this is the most beige-y shade of all.

I have to give this product 5 stars for packaging. It looks so neat and high-end. It is also very traveller-friendly as you can just toss it in a small makeup bag or pocket since it is just almost the size of your sharpie. Well, a shorter and thicker sharpie, that is.Upon application, the product is not too sticky and not runny. It also blended easily and looks finished after applying on foundation and face powder.

I was a bit worried about the product getting cakey as the day goes on, and true enough, it caked for a bit. It was not that very noticeable though, I only noticed it when I am checking it out through a mirror that I held closer to my face. I used it again the following day and I was surprised that it lasted the whole day without caking. As I continue using it, it is a hit and miss kind of thing. Or maybe I was not blending it enough, or I put too much at other times. Either way, I do not think that the product is bad at all.

What I like about Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF25 :

• It has SPF 25. More protection!
• Easy application. Just dab and blend using my fingertips, or use the applicator brush.
• Good packaging. The brush applicator at the tip is a big plus. The cap also holds tightly and securely.
• Can be worn under makeup.
• No breakouts! It was gentle enough even on my sensitive eye area.

What I do not like about Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF25 :

• Had some instances of the product caking, but it can also be because of the way I used it.

All in all, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector brought satisfactory results. With careful and proper use, it is actually a good concealer-primer-brightener in one. It even has SPF for added protection, and we all know that one can never have too much protection for the skin.

I will not mind trying another similar product if I am already done with my current stock. But for now, I will enjoy the good stuff Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector has to offer me.
