Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Review

Hello to all my lovely friends,

Well, I just love makeup remover wipes, especially for their ease of use. They are great for cleansing on-the-go, short travels, gym bags, tossing up in bags for any makeup emergency during the day 😛 and especially for those lazy nights when directly jumping to bed is the only thing you want rather than removing makeup and washing your face. 😀 For that, we want cleansing wipes which are very quick and hassle free, and then we can fall right into bed after using them 😛

Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

After the debacle of Yes To Carrots Nourishing Gentle Cleansing Wipes, I was on the lookout for some other option that’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin. Neutrogena Original Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes had got a very good review and rating here on IMBB too. I was about to pick that up when I spotted the “hydrating” variant and I picked it up instead, thinking that it would be a better option for my dry and parched skin.

My Experience with Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes:

Neutrogena hydrating makeup remover cleansing towelettes comes in a greenish blue colored plastic pouch packaging. It has a sticker attached on the opening and not a plastic panel. I personally prefer the panel opening since it prevents wipes from drying out for long as the glue on the sticker may give away much before all the wipes are used up. However, I have not faced any such issue with this pack.

Makeup cleansing wipes

The wipes are white in color and 7.4”*7.2” in size which is pretty good for a single use. The wipes are soft and are not harsh or abrasive on the skin. These are plain wipes and not exfoliating ones. They are thick enough to hold the cleanser and does not tear up during use. One towelette can be used from both the sides.

As far as its main function (i.e. makeup removal) goes, these wipes are pretty good at it. They remove all the long-wearing makeup, including my sunscreen, MAC matte lipsticks, waterproof eyeliner and mascara too. 😀 They are gentle enough to be used on the eye area and I have used them to remove makeup from my waterline too, without any stinging or discomfort. As for the waterproof mascara, I keep the wipe over my eyes for a few seconds and wipe my lashes gently rather than rubbing them back and forth.

Cleansing wipes

When I used these wipes for the first time, I felt a slight tingling sensation on my face and I was so scared (courtesy Yes to Carrots cleansing wipes), but it was gone in no time. It did leave a slight film on my face and I was in doubt whether all makeup was gone or not. I double checked with the toner, but the cotton pad came out clean. So, it is just a layer of moisture which the wipes leave, due to cucumber, aloe extracts and glycerin in the contents. The wipes have a cucumber fragrance and are very hydrating in nature. The wipes leave my face super moisturized. I don’t have to worry about quenching the thirst of my dry skin by applying moisturizer and I can hit the sack directly. 😀 Also, they did not break me out, so suitable for sensitive skin.

I haven’t used the original ones, so can’t really compare, but I am happy how it removes makeup and hydrates my skin at the same time. But yes, I feel that oily skin girls can skip these, especially in summers.

Pros of Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes:

  • Suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Ophthalmologist, dermatologist tested.
  • Alchohol and paraben free.
  • Very hydrating.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Smooth texture, not harsh on skin.
  • Removes waterproof mascara as well.
  • Cucumber fragrance.
  • A single wipe is sufficient for removing full makeup.

Cons of Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes:

  • Sticker opening, may dry out wipes in the long run.

IMBB Rating:
4.8/5

Would I Repurchase Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes?
On final thoughts, these wipes are not really cheap. MAC wipes are priced at $10 for 30 wipes (travel sized) which is almost similar and if somebody prefers bulk packaging, then MAC ones are $25 for 100 wipes, definitely cheaper than this, but then those cannot be used for removing eye makeup. I really liked these wipes, especially for their hydrating properties and would definitely repurchase them. I would definitely recommend these to dry skinned beauties.

  1. These are soooo cool!! I would grab one instantly if I can find it here where i live.. I’m a bit lazy when it comes to removing makeup but these wipes would be an amazing addition to my routine 😀 😀 Thanks Bakul 🙂 😀

  2. I am sooper lazy when it comes to removing makeup at the end of the day, I use Kara cleansing wipes, but I would’t like something that leaves a film on the face Bakuli 🙁

    1. yeah, these would not be a very good option for oily skinned girls Jomo, you would need to wash your face after using these!!! 🙁

  3. Now who does not like good makeup remover wipes, but ya MAC ones seem cheaper than these if purchased in bulk.

    1. yeah, just that MAC says not to use its wipes on eyes, you would need a separate eye-makeup remover with them!!!
