Product Description:

Oil-Free Acne Wash is the #1 dermatologist recommended acne-fighting cleanser. This oil-free formula gently cleanses deep down into pores for clear skin. It contains Salicylic Acid to get rid of acne you have now and help prevent future breakouts. Special skin soothers help prevent irritation and overdrying. Skin is left clean, residue-free and never oily.

I was quite surprised to see that this product hadn’t been reviewed on IMBB yet! I happen to believe that Neutrogena facial cleansers are fairly popular and unanimously accepted as effective. Anyhow, I shall now rave about this product. 🙁

I am a huge fan of facial cleansers of all kinds. I spend much of my time drooling over attractively packaged cleansers from all parts of the world. I had been eyeing the Oil-Free Acne Wash range from Neutrogena for a long time, so I finally went and got this one and also the facial cleanser and scrub from the Oil-Free Acne Wash/Scrub Pink Grapefruit range. I think those two products have already been reviewed here. First off, I am going to tell you a little about my skin and then about my experience with this product.
ingredients
I have very dry but acne-prone skin. I tend to break out very often, which explains the constant look of redness on my face. Of course, this makes me rely on makeup products such as concealer rather heavily, but I have always been on the lookout for good skin care products that will allow me to control the acne and the redness itself. As I’ve already told you, I am a face-wash buff! I have tried a whole bunch of face washes and scrubs across several brands. Of course, I justify it to myself by saying that I have bad skin and that I need a set of really good face products! So, now, I own so many face-cleansing products that I end up using a different one every time I wash my face! Of course, the downside of that is that that doesn’t allow any one product to consistently work on my skin.

Anyway, now I shall tell you more about the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash.
description
I have been using this face wash for several months now and I have to admit that this is one of the best ones that I have ever used. For my dry, acne-prone skin, I have tried a variety of Clean and Clear face washes and products from several other brands as well, but I think I was just waiting to find this one!

This is a gel-based face wash that is neither too runny nor too thick in consistency. It lathers very well. The face wash contains 2% salicylic acid that helps fight breakouts. It cleans the face very effectively without overdrying the skin. Continued use does give you miraculous results!

Pros of Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash:

– 2% Salicylic Acid: Effectively fights acne. Does what it claims to do. I would say that it is about 75-80% effective on the acne front.
– Cleans the skin super, super well. Gets rid of dirt as well as makeup.
– Not drying at all. Suitable for all skin types from oily to dry.
– Does not contain any parabens.
– Has a very convenient, travel-friendly pump that locks and unlocks very easily.

Cons of Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash:

I really can’t think of anything!

I purchased this one from the US, but this face wash is also available in India. The only difference, however, is in the way it looks. The “Neutrogena” label on the bottle on the Indian variant is against a black background whereas the American variant has the brand name against a red background. Other than that, I don’t think that there is a difference in the product itself.

Although this face wash does a lot for my problem-skin, this cannot be the only face-cleaning product that I can depend on. I still need a good scrub to use every other day. So, while this is an excellent product, this won’t be the final answer to all the needs of your skin.

Verdict:
Excellent and super-effective face wash for acne-prone skin. Cleans your skin very well and controls the acne to a large extent. Won’t dry your skin out. I certainly recommend this to people with both oily skin and dry skin. This one is a true winner (in my opinion)!

Price:
7-8 USD for 6 fl. oz (177ml); 425 INR for 175ml.

Rating: 4.8/5.

  5. I, too, am surprised this hasn’t been review yet! Love this stuff, can’t tell you how many times its saved my face. It’s an overnight zit-zapper!

  6. Even though its a gud face wash for acne prone skin, but it is only available in a big bottle of 175 ml. Thats too big for once & a lot of money to spend on a new product!!

They shd make it available in a smaller bottle of 50 ml size for
    travelling purposes and
for 1st time users to try it out, to see if its suitable, coz many FW r drying.

  7. l remembered 2 years ago before l left Nigeria, one of my boyfriend’s gave me this for face wash. Its magnificent in result and l recommend it to all acne-fighers. Though a bit expensive but it off the hook.

    From Cairo, Egypt.

  8. Arey! It’s super drying. I actually have oily acne prone skin in summer and monsoon. So I started using this in monsoon. When you wash your face with it your face might not seem dry. But once you wipe it with towel your skin becomes super dry. Richa you probably might not have felt it because you already have ever dry skin.
P.S. The bottle says it’s not for sensitive skin.

  9. Ay this is very bad cleanser I have Oily acne prone skin it makes my skin is very dry it has salicylic acid but my acne got worse after using it i wouldn’t recommend this product
