My Take on Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser:

I am very skeptic while using facial cleansers’ which claim to work on pores as nothing does seem to work. Once Nupur told me if you want to minimize your pores, there is one thing that works amazingly well and that is “stand 2 feet away from the mirror,” simple. 🙂 Lol.

Okay, coming to the cleanser, I picked it up from Ulta for 8 dollars after reading a lot of positive reviews about this and every site praising this huge tube. I appreciate Neutrogena as a brand and anything for the humongous pores on my skin.

Pros of Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser:

• Does really work on pores.
• Minimises the pores while you are using this cleanser.
• Will work perfectly for normal-combination skin and even mature skin with enlarged pores due to age.
• Price is real good for the huge quantity of cleanser you get.
• Non comedogenic, soap free and all the good stuff.
• Until I used this cleanser my pore-ful face stayed relatively pore less.
• Smoothens the skin and the tiny beads in it help remove dead skin.
• Has all the great alpha and beta hydroxyl acids.

Cons of Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser:

• A very very funny smell, something I didn’t like.
• It stings my eyes so bad.
• You can’t keep it on your skin or rub it in for more than 30 seconds.
• A problem cleanser for sensitive skin.
• Availability in India.

  1. I have three questions– What is the price? and do you mean to say that it works as long as you use the cleanser, but stops working if you do not use it? Also is it very harsh on the skin?

  2. hey fly girl..nice review….wher will we get this in india??? n I have read articles that say that when one product contains both glycolic & salycylic acid together…it is not that effective….because the acids cut into each other benefit action….but i havent personally tried this n i really really don’t mind going in for this as far as it works on open pores….

    1. dimpi am not sure about here.ulta charges you to ship international.you could try amazon.com or any major site which sells skincare :lashes:

  3. if u keep oil production at bay… then also pore seem reduced,, cos pores get larger to make an outlet..make way for humungous amounts of oil our oily skin produces … iv used a lot of stuff but to no avail..
u can use salicyclic acid based products… its one thing dat is famous for sinking deep into pores to remove excess oil.. plus it exfoliates… and is not as harsh a physical exfoliaters( i generaly hate em..they agrravate acne..)

so yeah… iv really seen reduction of pores using salicylclic acid based produdcts.. no escess oil left inside.. so pores dun need to stretch and :defntly seem smaller .. na rahegi baas na bajegi baasuri 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

  4. oh darn!! :headbang: wish i’d known this review was gonna b published….i spent a big amt on cleansers yesterday….didn’t know what to get. This was def worth a try.
    :thanks:

      1. got one from Avon organics for around Rs.800 :struggle: n himalaya’s neem foam wash for around Rs.250 (its costly here in singapore). Liked the neem so far, tightens my pores n cleans well but leaves me with a lil stretchy skin, hav to use moistu after.
        Haven’t tried Avon..better b good for 800 bucks :hunterwali:
