My Experience with Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm

Though I have so many lipsticks, I always reach for lip balm when I rush to office. This must be the case with many of us. So, I always like to try new lip balms all the time. Tinted lip balms are my favorite.

I got to know about this product a couple of months back. People have given good reviews about this so I wanted to try it. Got it through one of my friend returning from US. While trying to order online, I found only 2 shades available. Healthy Blush and Soft Caramel. I’m not much into brown shades, so I chose “Healthy Blush”.

When I received the product, I was so excited to try it after seeing the before and after photo on the package 🙂 . The moment I opened the package, it could get obvious melon smell from it. Not an irritating fragrance tough. It comes in a black plastic case which is oval shaped. It has a wheel mechanism at the bottom, to get the product out and in.

It is a frosty pale pink shade. I’m not a big fan of frosty finish. It would make the lips look drier than they are. So, though this one was moisturizing, it accentuated the fine lines and made it look dry. Which was not nice to look at . So, it is not good to be used on a chapped lips, which rules out the major purpose of lip balms.

Its just the shade I feel has this problem. Otherwise it keeps the lips moisturized for around 4 hours. After which we may have to re-apply. Apply with a light hand for less frostier look. I swipe the lip balm once and pat with my finger to remove the frostiness.

Also it is heavily priced for a tinted lip balm. Could have been a little cheaper.

Pro’s of Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm

1. Very smooth texture. Glides on easily.
2. Has SPF 20.
3. Moisturizes the lips well.
4. Feels light on lips.
5. Sleek packaging. Can be tossed in very small purse as well.

Con’s of Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm

1. At $8.99 , its very expensive for a lip balm.
2. This particular shade is more frostier for my liking.
3. Accentuates dry patches and fine lines.
4. The smell could be bothering to someone.

Overall Opinion:
Though I like the texture and feel of the lip balm, the shade didn’t impress me much. I feel it is over priced. I might try the other non shimmery shades like “Sunny Berry” or “Fresh Plum”, if I find them in some offer.
