Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci Perfume Review

Heya girls,

Another perfume review here! I hope you are not getting bored of so many perfume reviews, I am reviewing by genre. So, I got to know of this fragrance through a fashion magazine.  The preceding and first of this line of perfumes by Nina Ricci – Ricci Ricci was quite a rage. So, I went over to the nearest perfume store and checked it out. Liked it. Bought it!

Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci Perfume

Product Details:

Mademoiselle Ricci is a declaration and a perfume of ever-lasting love, dedicated to elegant, impertinent and irresistibly sensual women.  Sensual and luminous pink bouquet.  A pink woody floral set against musk and white wood, enveloping and deliciously attractive, in which each note reveals the facets of Mademoiselle Ricci :

  • the chic of rose centifolia.
  • the hint of craziness of eglantine.
  • the sensuality of pink laurel.
  • the vibrancy of pink pepper.

Olfactive notes:
Top notes: rose and pink pepper.
Middle notes: nerium oleander, rose hip, laurels.
Base notes: white wood, musk.

My Experience with Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci Perfume:

So, I did this little test. I wore it once and stayed in the hot, humid weather of Kolkata.  I wore it the second time and stayed in a cool, dry, and air-conditioned climate. Here are the differences and my experience all together:

Hot, humid climate:

The fragrance smells like a warm bouquet of flowers with a light alcohol and wood smell. The warmth is very loud, not like oriental warmth, but more like warmth arising from fields or streets after a tiny spell of shower on a hot day. A myriad of flowers and not just the one mentioned as the notes of the perfume is accompanied by this beautiful, hot and fresh warmth. The musk, I think, creates this sensory as the pink pepper can’t be smelt at all and the fragrance is strictly not oriental. The wood is barely there when worn in such a climate as I have mentioned.

The fragrance lasts very poorly in this climate, the zest stays on for like 3 hours after which it is just boring musk, but the sillage is pretty great because of the musky warmness.

Cool, air-conditioned climate:

The fragrance smells like a myriad of flowers or like a bouquet of flowers in such a climatic condition as well. The wood here is stronger than the musk, giving the smell a good distribution of the notes to the senses. It also cancels out on the warm projection that I have previously mentioned and smells slightly acidic (very light). The pink pepper too comes out in this climate, barely there, however. The notes change on an hourly basis, more flowers and barely there wood in the first hour. In the second, the woods and flowers balance out perfectly and it stays that way till the fourth hour which brings with it the barely there pink pepper and musk, reducing the essence of wood and even so of the flowers.

The fragrance stays on for a good five to six hours in such a climate. The sillage is okay, not as great as in the hot climate. Okay, now to the all-weather bottle that remains unchanged:-p well, the design of the bottle is up for your judgment; those who agree to my judgment of it being a stunner, say aye! Those against, say nay! I think the ayes have it, the ayes have it. :-p the cap and atomizer are very effective.

Pros of Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci Perfume:

  • Smells like flowers in a bottle. All kinds, possibly. No, not rafflesia:-p
  • The notes come out differently, but beautifully in different climates.
  • The sillage is pretty great, little less or more depending on the climate.
  • The longevity is quite long in a cool, dry climate.
  • Everything about the bottle.

Cons of Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci Perfume:

  • The longevity is meh in hot, humid climate.
  • Thinking, thinking, thinking……….nope, got nothing more.
