Oily skin

My Take on Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash:

Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash comes in a sea green, translucent, inverted tube with a flip flop cap. The face wash is sea green in color with blue micro beads in it. The color of the gel is quite pleasing and I like the tiny blue beads in it. Since it is a gel, it is not at all runny.

Cleanser

I am using this face wash since the last 2-3 weeks and I am not at all impressed.  It claims to be for mixed to oily skin, but I think it would work better for normal to dry skin people because we oily-skinned people are usually acne prone and this face wash does nothing to reduce break outs, progression of active acne or the formation of acne scars.

Nivea

This face wash does a decent job in removing light make up. It removes oil from the face but doesn’t mattify my face completely. I don’t get that squeaky clean feeling after using this face wash, maybe that’s because I feel it doesn’t remove oil completely. This face wash doesn’t dry out my skin. I found this face wash to be very gentle on my skin.

The blue micro beads in it provide very mild and gentle exfoliation, which I don’t think is enough at all. It doesn’t lather much, hence I end up using double the amount I would normally use while using any other face wash. It doesn’t give the glow to my face which I generally get after washing my face with my other face washes.

Face Wash

Pros of Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash:

  • This face wash feels very gentle on the skin.
  • Removes light make up.
  • Doesn’t dry out my skin.

Cons of Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash:

  • Doesn’t mattify my skin completely and doesn’t give me that squeaky clean feeling after washing my face.
  • Doesn’t make my skin glow after washing my face with it.
  • Doesn’t lather well.
  • Doesn’t in any way help in reducing acne progression or fresh breakouts.

IMBB Rating:
3/5

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Nivea Aqua Effect Purifying Face Wash?

Though I don’t like this face wash at all, I think it might suit normal and dry-skinned people better. Every face wash works differently on every person, so it is possible that it would suit other oily-skinned ladies much more than it suited me. I would only say that in case you have acne-prone skin, buy this only after you are sure and you like Nivea face washes. In case you are in a need of gentle face wash and you don’t have acne-prone and oily skin, you can give this a try.

Have a nice day!!!

  1. I tried clearsil face wash..clearsil is knwn as an anti-acne brand… bt it badly disappointed me. Since then i stopped expecting good work from any face wash!

    1. try fabindia tea tree face wash Tarannum. its my HG face wash. it helps in controlling my acne break outs to a large extent. m already on my 3rd bottle 😛

      1. Currently using Lotus Tea Tree FaceWash. I keep trying new products all the time when it comes to controlling acne. I got back to Lotus after two years 😛 It’s like a cycle. Will try Fab India when this one finishes 🙂

  2. Oh… I don’t want this….thanks for the review Surbhi….waise, you should try the Yardley foaming face wash….its really good for oily skin 🙂
