Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer Review

Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer

Hi ladies,

Today I am here to review a BB cream from Nivea. I think most of the cosmetic companies are in the rat race of manufacturing BB creams, so Nivea has also come up with their version of BB cream. I was on my hunt for face washes when this one caught my attention. There were 2 shades, Light and Medium, I chose Light and so lets see how this one fared for me.

My take on the Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer

I was in a dilemma while buying this BB cream because of the shade selection. On the outer cover of the BB cream, the shade ‘fair’ seemed to be quite light, like Caucasian skin tone light. There were no testers provided and no SA’s to help me out. So without giving much thought I bought the fair shade. I kept my fingers crossed before opening the packing, when I opened the tube I sighed with relief, the colour was not at all light. This shade is mainly suitable for light to medium Indian skin tones, NC 30 below skin tones will find it a bit difficult to pull off the colour as it will give them a tanned look. The shade also had a tinge of orange in it.. I don’t know how Nivea could label this as a fair shade, fair skinned people will get a heartbreak for sure if they use this shade.

This cream is quite thick, smooth and creamy in texture. It had the classic Nivea cream scent, I actually felt I was applying the colored version of Nivea cream from the blue tub. It was just as thick and when I started blending, it felt like a never ending process. It took a real good time to blend out the product on my face and I had to blend it quickly because it had a tendency to dry out pretty fast. I felt very skeptical about this product while applying, like this was going to ruin my face. But actually it turned out pretty good. It cleared most of the imperfections on my face except for a dark acne scar, filled in my pores and gave me a nearly foundation applied look. It was perfect matte finish.” All oily skinned gals, this one is for you”.

I usually have dry skin but currently it is in the combination mode due to the climate change, glad I tried during the summers otherwise it would have been an epic failure for me. But there is a tendency for this BB cream to accentuate the dry areas of your face. As of now, after proper exfoliation and moisturization, I never faced that situation. So dry to extremely dry skinned ladies can stay far away from this product.

When I first applied this cream it looked a bit cakey with an artificial touch but then settled down soon to give a natural matte finish. My T-zone has gone crazy oily these days and when I applied this it gave me a smooth oil-free finish. I wore this around 8 hours without a setting powder and at the end of the day there was just a light shine on my T-zone area. It never oxidized on my face which I thought it would because of the orange tint in the cream. It also has an SPF 10.

The BB cream comes in a simple tube with a white body and a light beige screw cap. It is sturdy and travel friendly. So let me sum this up for you.

Pros of Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer

  • The thick, creamy texture nearly covers up all the imperfections of the face giving an even finish.
  • Even though it gives a cakey artificial look right after application, it settles down to give a natural matte finish
  • Keeps your face oil- free for 4 to 5 hours without a setting powder
  • It has SPF 10
  • Simple and sturdy packing
  • True to their claims of being a 5 in 1 beautifying moisturizer

Cons of Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer

  • Colour selection will be a problem for very fair ladies
  • Suitable only for combination/ oily skin types
  • Tends to get patchy and accentuates dry areas
  • Takes a good deal of time to blend out the product due to its thickness
  • Application should be fast and precise because it dries quickly
  • Contains parabens

IMBB Rating:

3.8/ 5. I would recommend this cream for combination or oily skin types, but do take special care of your dry areas before applying it.

Would I repurchase Nivea BB Cream 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturizer?

Not definitely. I am still on my hunt for my HG BB cream, would love to try out different brands.
