I am a big fan of colored streaks! And as the Sun is out, I have been seeing a wide variety of colored hair in Netherlands. With so much of pestering, I finally got my purple highlights almost more than a month back (Hurrraayyy). And with added color comes added responsibility! I started hunting for the best shampoo for colored hair to make my hair color last long and also to not make my hair ends dry like a broom. I then came across Nivea range of shampoos. I trust the brand but I have had few issues with them too, so I was reluctant to purchase a huge bottle of shampoo. Luckily, I saw the small travel packs being sold and I decided to give this a try before buying the full size product.
What the company Claims:
• Conditions the hair with every wash.
• Protects hair color from fading and prolong the color intensity.
• Intensely nourishes the hair and makes it soft and supple.
• Protects the hair against UV filters (sun) light.
• Extends the color intensity.
• With Color Oil complex of macadamia oil.
How to use it:
Apply to wet hair, massage gently and rinse thoroughly.
Price:
The travel pack contains both, a conditioner & shampoo, costing 1.50 € for 50ml and 3.15€ for 250ml.

My Experience with Nivea Color Care & Protect Shampoo:
A good color protect shampoo and a conditioner is a must for the colored hair to last longer and keep the mane shiny and healthy. Nivea has released a new line of Color Protect variants which includes a shampoo, a conditioner, a styling mousse and a styling spray. Since I already have a styling spray, I just picked up the travel packs of the Shampoo and Conditioner.
The shampoo comes in a light sky blue bottle with a tight cap that makes it super friendly for travelling. The shampoo has a pearly white shine and the fragrance reminds me of the ones used in salons! It smells fresh and a little fruity.
Macadamia Oil is known for its high contents of Vitamins, Proteins and several other nutrients. Usage of the oil in the shampoo is an added benefit. The shampoo reduces tangles, makes hair smooth and manageable. With regular usage, you also find the hair gets shinier and helps to tame frizzy hair.
When it comes to the colored hair aspect, I feel that my hair was not affected and remained the same. Also the color longevity claim by the company is false. My highlights have faded away and remained for a month as informed by the lady in the parlor, so this shampoo is not effective in this case.
It states that it protects hair from the harmful UV rays, I am not sure of this claim as my hair has always remained the same, irrespective of me being out in the sun or inside the house! It contains SLS but the shampoo doesn’t lather a lot. A very small dollop of shampoo is needed for cleaning the hair even if it is oiled. So if you are looking for a shampoo that multitasks in keeping your hair smooth, healthy and not bothered about color longevity; this is a perfect shampoo for you.

Pros of Nivea Color Care & Protect Shampoo:
• Makes hair manageable, healthy.
• Small amount of shampoo is needed.
• Contains Macadamia oil for extra added benefits.
• Reduced frizz.
• Repairs the damage caused by coloring.
• Available in travel packs.
Cons of Nivea Color Care &Protect Shampoo:
• Contains SLS.
• The shampoo is not effective in preventing the hair color from fading.
• It would have been better if it was introduced as an intense repair shampoo than a color protect.
Would I Repurchase Nivea Color Care & Protect Shampoo?
No. Now that my color is fading, I will stick to the regular shampoo as the benefits are almost similar.
