Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturising Day Cream Review

So, I am back with another Nivea review. Oh, I so love this brand. I am always ready to try new products from this brand and thankfully, I am never disappointed. So soft, gentle yet effective. I have oily skin and really admire the kind of moisturisers Nivea offers to my skin type. Many a times, Nivea offers good products for normal/combination skin types (and not for oily skin). Honestly, had it been another brand, I would not have given a thought, but it’s Nivea people! It doesn’t disappoint 🙂

These days, many of us are being a little alert of the artificial chemicals and ingredients used in creams and lotions. As its related to our most important element of our body – skin, we try to avoid those harsh elements and scout for natural components. Having this in mind, I checked this day cream under Nivea Pure and Natural Collection. This range basically comprises of 95% ingredients of natural origin. It’s free from parabens, silicones, colorants and mineral oils.

They have bundles of products – day and night creams, toners, lotions and others. In their day cream range, they offer two variants – Moisturising Day Cream – Normal to Combination Dry to Sensitive skin and I purchased the first one. And here is the review.

Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturising Day Cream formula works by combining natural ingredients like Bio Aloe Vera known for its replenishing properties and Bio Argan oil, a good source of Vitamin E. These are grown organically and which works to create perfect harmony with skin. As it’s soft, supple and gentle, it is suitable for sensitive skin; it is dermatologically approved and works for the skin to stay moisturised, hydrated and nourished.

The cream comes in a 50 ml glass pot and has a soft medium consistency. And not to forget, the product is packaged quite well.  It’s light weight and can be easily carried in our travel cosmetic kit.

My Experience with Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturising Day Cream:

Usually, the basic properties of any moisturising cream are to keep the skin hydrated, soft and smooth. Almost all creams offer this, but usually, we scout for something extra, something different and something unique. In this cream, the first added benefit is its smell. The first thing which I always find good about Nivea is the fragrance. It is a little overwhelmingly floral and lingers for quite some time. For many, this may be a little strong.

About the application, just a tiny amount is required for it to get absorbed deeply into the skin, but yes, it takes a little extra time to sink in.

The cream is formulated to support the natural skin balance and claims to offer intensive moisture and help the complexion to regain its natural healthy glow. It definitely gives a good amount of freshness to enrich skin, giving a naturally healthy glow. The mild formula of aloe vera and argan oil provides wonderful skin caring properties. Well, I agree that the cream provides a healthy glow but its makes the skin freaking oily!

The downside is that it remains perfect for a couple of hours, and from afternoon, the skin turns so oily! It gets quite greasy and obviously by evening, it develops a thin oily surface over the skin. I have tried a couple of other creams suitable for normal/combination skin from Nivea and other brands and they were satisfactory. But this is definitely not for me! A couple of times, I have mixed this cream along with BB cream and it turned out to be fine all day.

Overall, yes this moisturising day cream stuffed with natural ingredients offers good benefits, but it’s not that favourable for oily skin 🙁 Nivea is a well trusted skin care brand and usually, I am never disappointed with its products. May be this product is not bad; it’s just not suitable for me.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturising Day Cream?

I recommend for those who have a normal or a combination skin (and not oily). Since it didn’t serve my purpose, I am not going to buy again!
