Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream Review

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream Review

Hi Everyone,

I am on make-up blogging overdrive right now and here’s my next review.  This review is about my current love, the Nivea Nourishing Hand Cream. I picked this up from the London Heathrow Boots Counter on-the-go as I was desperately in need of a hand cream and had forgotten to pack mine.  This is a travel pack as I need to travel pretty frequently. So, most of my skin care and hair care stuff are travel-friendly sizes. This is how it looks:

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream Review

Price:

2 GBP for 30 ml I think.

Ingredients:

It does have parabens, rest of them, you can see below in the pic:

Ingredients

Texture: White soft cream, this is meant for dry hands and has Macademia Nut Oil.

On application, it is easily spreadable, not super light as it is meant to provide hydration for dry hands. However, it gets absorbed pretty quickly. The fragrance reminds me of my childhood when my mum used to slather me with Nivea Body Cream  (the one that used to come in the flat, round disc, blue-colored tub), so I get quite nostalgic when I smell this.

My Experience with Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream:

I am in love with this. Although, my facial skin is oily, my hands are super dry and they don’t get spared even in the sweltering heat in Delhi. So, I needed something very hydrating for my hands and nails. This meets all those needs perfectly. The best thing about this cream is that the effect stays for a long time. I have been using this pretty regularly for over a month now, and over time, I have noticed that the texture of my skin has improved immensely and the lines on my hands are less visible now. They are very smooth and soft these days, so I am extremely happy with the product.

Below is a swatch of my hand after massaging the hand cream on it.

Swatch 1

Another pro is that a little goes a long way.  This tiny tube has lasted me over a month with every day use of about 5 times a day.

My hands after massaging with the cream – you won’t be able to figure out from the pic though. They feel super-soft!

Cons of Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream:

  • Once you have applied this, no matter how long you wait before washing your hands, your hands feel like you have applied oil on them after washing.
  • I am not sure if it retails in India.
  • It has a strong smell and that stays for quite a while, although I find the smell very pleasant, some people may not.

Overall Verdict:

Its a super duper hit in my books! I can’t live without it. Don’t know what I am going to do once this tiny tube gets over.

By the way, I can’t get this line out of my head for some reason – “Main toh hoon hi nahi iss duniya ki” – I can’t stop humming this since morning! Don’t know why they have used such a weird line in the song though ;P  Oh and first time, I heard the other actress’s name I was stumped – it’s Diana “Penty” – any guesses what I read that as?

  1. I love nivea products.. Especially the deep blue body milk.. This one sounds like a sure winner.. Not seen it in indian stores though..

    1. I dont think it retails in India…that’s the problem, even brands like Nivea dont get the good stuff to India 🙁

  2. oh wow aarbee. I guess I am going to check the store for this. It sounds pretty awesome. for me also hand creams are a must. totally dig them. 🙂

    1. Haha, Lakme – I can understand, but how is the ‘Y’ at the end of Penty become Pente? Kinda strange but thanks for letting me know 🙂
