Nivea UV Whitening Extra Cell Repair and Protect Body Lotion Review

Hi to all the beautiful lasses!!

Happy Womens’ Day!! Personally, I do not believe in the concept of dedicating just one day to celebrate any concept (birthdays and anniversaries being an exception), still, these kind of days bring a joy to our otherwise monotonous lives, quite like our dear IMBB, don’t you think? Where we all share our mutual love for beauty and unleash our glam side. 😉

The product which I am going to share with you all today, is another new launch from Nivea. Nivea Body Lotion Extra Whitening Cell Repair aqnd UV Protect SPF 15 (quite a mouthful).  Disclaimer : I do not encourage any kind of whitening products. The Ingredients (50X Vitamin C, a natural remedy for tan), is what attracted me towards it.  I do not have much tan, but a bit of unevenness is always there, if you are an active working female, and basically I purchased it to reduce it.  Let us move on without further ado and find out how it fared on me.

Price and Packaging:

The Nivea Extra Whitening Body Lotion comes in three variants:
50 ml for Rs. 118/-
200 ml for Rs. 249/- (the one I picked)
350 ml for Rs. 347/-

I had used the earlier whitening version of Nivea Body Lotion and it worked fairly well for me as a good body lotion, but did not do much as far as the tanning part was concerned. As far as the whitening claims are concerned, it is something which should be ignored without any further thought.  This new version, however, claims to be paraben, bleach and mineral oil free (wow! I was actually very happy to see that) and claims to whiten (please read “even tone” wherever whitening is mentioned) and smoothen the skin in 14 days (now this is one tall claim).  It comes in a flip top bottle. The cap shuts tightly after use, so there is no scope of leakage at all. The small and medium size are easy enough to fit in your hand bag, so this is one travel friendly product.

My Experience with Nivea UV Whitening Extra Cell Repair and Protect Body Lotion:

I have been using this for the past week in conjunction with the Nivea In Shower Body Moisturizer, which I have already reviewed, and thought I could review it now.

This Nivea Body Lotion is paraben, mineral oil, colorant and bleach free. You can check that from the ingredients. So, for me, it was a winner from the moment I checked this *happydance*.

It smells almost the same as the Nivea Whitening Lotion, just a bit more floral and a bit citrusy, but the notes are more or less the same, traditional Nivea. I am not complaining as I love the smell of Nivea body products.  The body lotion is of a consistency between thick and thin, more on the thin side, and is white coloured.

The Nivea Extra Whitening Lotion moisturizes my normal skin well, but, that might be due to the fact that I use this after skin conditioner. Together, these two make my skin soft and supple throughout day. Alone I think this will not be very moisturizing for long, so, dry skinned beauties will need something heavy alongside.

As far as the fairness claims are concerned, I do not believe in it, but yes, I do see a bit of evenness on my hands after 7 days of use. Not dramatic, but yes to some extent. Although I must say that it did not do anything for the pathetic tan on my feet, sigh, nothing works there *sob* ( I soon have to figure out some routine for my feet, they are becoming UGLY kind of ugly *scared* ). With continued usage, it will give better results and I am not complaining, because this does not use harsh chemical agents to produce quick results, so, I guess by the time this bottle shall be over, it shall make quite a difference to my body.

Summing up:

Pros of Nivea UV Whitening Extra Cell Repair and Protect Body Lotion:

  • The biggest one – paraben, bleach, colorant and mineral oil free (thumbs up!).
  • Smells wonderful, so no worries for sensitive noses.
  • Reduces mild tan with prolonged use.
  • Repairs skin (with regular use, the results will take some time though).
  • Contains SPF 15.
  • Moisturizes decently.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.
  • Decently priced for a body lotion free from many harmful agents.
  • Very easily available online and offline.

Cons of Nivea UV Whitening Extra Cell Repair and Protect Body Lotion:

  • May not be very moisturizing when used alone (I use it after skin conditioner, and I have normal skin).
  • Dry skinned beauties may need something heavy even after using this.
  • SPF 15 not enough, you will need sun block over it.
  • May not work on very stubborn tan.

IMBB Rating and Recommendation:

I rate the new Nivea Extra Whitening Body Lotion SPF 15 4 (for product performance) + 0.5 (for ingredients) = 4.5/5.  Yes, I would recommend and repurchase this. You can surely give this product one try. Even if doesn’t work that excellently on tan removal and whitening, you have to give it credit for being a decently moisturizing body lotion which evens out your skin tone with time, repairs and softens it with time and all this without those harmful ingredients which most body lotions today have.  A very good product from Nivea all in all and I am thoroughly loving it and the refreshed feel it gives me all day long *happydance*

Hope you all found my review useful. A very happy womens’ day again to all you gorgeous people out there. We rock!! 😀 Stay happy and blessed. Till the next time, bye and love you all :* :* :*

    1. me too jomol *hifive* but i still feel that they shud use the term “even tone” instead of whitening bcoz thats precisely wat even the most effective products do…this whole “whitening” thing is so racism kinda to me *nonono* ..but anyway..this product is simply too good *happydance*

  1. Yippee, no harmful parabens, bleach or mineral oil! *thankyou* for the review. It’s just in time for summer. *happy dance*
