Nivea Visage Oil Regulating Toner Review

Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner Review

Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner

I have a streak of absentmindedness in me. I have no problem recollecting memories of the holidays spent in my native village years ago or recollecting the name of someone who studied with me in 5th class, but I do have a problem finding keys, phone, and other important stuff which I misplace too often. The same sense of absentmindedness runs as far as remembering and using my cosmetics is concerned. I buy something, use it for a few days, and place it somewhere, and then forget about it later, only to find it after its expiry date. Something similar happened with a toner that I was so religiously using, but then, in between, I switched to some other toners, I didn’t like it because it was stinging like hell, and then stopped using toners altogether.

2

There was this product called Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner that I had found perfect for my oily skin, which did not sting and kept the oiliness of my face in check. I was using this throughout 2009, then tried many other toners out of curiosity, and those had higher alcoholic contents, and then I stopped using toners after that.

A few days ago, I found this bottle of Nivea toner in my store room and I realized it was nearing expiry date, then I quickly finished this up. After having used it again, I cannot find a single reason why I had to dump it like that when it was doing all the things a toner should do and suiting my skin the way I liked. Here’s the review. Please do read.

What Does the Bottle Say :

Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner containing skin’s own carnitine, thoroughly but mildly cleanses your skin while regulating the sebum production. Does not clog pores.

Price:  Rs. 149 for 125 ml.

Ingredients:

Carinitine, sodium lactate, aloe baradenesis, and glycerin. There is no detailed ingredient list provided and alcohol is missing, but then, I do know all toners do have a certain amount of alcohol in it.

Directions To Use:

• Apply on a cotton pad mornings and evenings after cleansing.
• Then, apply Nivea Visage day or night cream.

My Take on Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner:

Nivea oil-regulating toner comes in a mint green plastic bottle with a white cap. It has a very mild refreshing fragrance. I hate toners that have strong fragrances and I feel as though I am using after-shave lotion on my face when using such toners. This one is good that way. It does not sting, it does not sting at all. I was trying to find out why. First, I checked the list and alcohol was missing and the second thing I noted was the presence of glycerin and aloe. I am not sure whether this ingredient list is a detailed one.

Using it on my skin, it feels just like water and after a few minutes, it makes the skin supple and free of dry patches and ready for the moisturizing step. Some toners do dry up the face because of their high alcoholic content, but that is not the case with Nivea. When I was using this toner, the oiliness of my face was under check and there were less breakouts. Okay, one more confession, I sometimes do completely miss out the moisturization step when I am using this toner because my skin does feel supple already.

Overall, I am very happy that I redeemed this Nivea toner again and along with the Avon’s Rose Hips toner, I am going to keep this also in stock. Over the last one year or two, the packaging has sort of changed, new ingredients have been added, but I just hope, they give me the same effect as this one.

Coming to the pros and cons :

Pros of Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner:

• Does not sting at all.
• Contains aloe barbadensis.
• Comes in an attractive minty green bottle.
• Feels like water when dabbed on face.
• Zero (????) or low alcoholic content.
• Keeps the oiliness of my face under check.
• Keep skin moisturized because of the presence of glycerin.
• Contains lactic acid and carnitine.
• Reasonable price considering the quantity and quality.
• Does not clog pores.

Cons of Nivea Visage Oil-Regulating Toner:

No cons that I can think of except the fact that they have changed some ingredients and there is this uncertainty of whether the revamped product will work in the same way as this one.

Rating:

5/5.
