Nivea Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub Review
Basically, I have combination to oily skin. I always love exfoliating my skin at the same time I don’t want to overdo it. So, my search for mild scrub is always on. Though I am quite happy with St. Ives which is my HG, I still look for options. Though I like Neutrogena scrub, I find it drying during winters. I haven’t used much of Nivea products excepts their lip balms and body lotion. After reading about Nivea faces washes IMBB, I thought of giving their face scrub a try. This face scrub is for normal skin. So, it shouldn’t be drying for my skin. Read on further to know how it worked for me.
What Nivea claims:
“Enriched with Vitamin E and Hydra IQ, this scrub thoroughly refines and exfoliates the skin.”
NIVEA Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub leaves the skin thoroughly refined and exfoliated, looking healthy and beautiful.
NIVEA Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub enriched with Vitamin E and Hydra IQ:
• Exfoliates thoroughly while removing dead skin cells
• Refines the skin’s surface for an even complexion while respecting the skin’s own moisture balance
• Is especially mild to the skin thanks to its Vitamin E formula
Sensational fresh skin that is thoroughly exfoliated
Skin compatibility dermatologically approved.
How To Use:
Apply 2-3 times a week to wet face, avoiding the eye and lip area. Rinse off with lukewarm water. For optimal results use the whole range of NIVEA Aqua Effect products for normal skin.
Quantity & Price:
75ml for INR 149
Packaging & Formula:
This product comes in a tube packaging. I prefer tube packaging. I have St Ives scrub which is a 10oz tub container. So, I need something when I am on travel. This fits the bill perfectly. The tube is light blue in color which I quite like. It comes in an off white base with blue micro beads. It also has some crystal like structure. It is slightly slippery. Basically he granules are coarse.
How Nivea Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub fared for me:
I used to splash water in my face and start applying the scrub in circular motion for 2 to 3 minutes. I was happy to see the blue micro beads bursting out. I am not sure what it does. I didn’t find the scrub that mild. I felt my St Ives scrub was milder than this. On the other hand, It didn’t make my skin drying. I felt very refreshing and properly exfoliated. It made my skin soft and supple. It even brightens up my face. It also helps in removing whiteheads and blackheads. Another plus point is that it didn’t break me out. I do get occasional break outs otherwise.
Time to summarize the pros and cons:
Pros of Nivea Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub:
• Travel friendly packing.
• Makes the skin refreshed and clean.
• Helps with whiteheads and blackheads.
• Does a great job as an exfoliator.
• It didn’t break me out.
• It didn’t dry my skin out.
Cons of Nivea Aqua Effect Skin Refining Scrub:
• Not as mild as I expected
• It didn’t lather much.
This is a very decent scrub that does what it claims. It gives a super clean skin without drying skin. I would gladly repurchase this scrub if it was milder than my St Ives scrub. I would say it is milder than other scrubs in the market. I would recommend this to girls who would want to keep whiteheads and blackheads at bay. My search for non-drying mild scrub is still on.
