Nourishing Egg and Vinegar Hair Mask – Do It Yourself

Hiya,

My hair is naturally silky and shiny, but this time, I thought of applying a mask to see if it really helps hair or not. I made a simple mask, applied it and shampooed my hair later on and I am glad to say that probably yesterday I had the “silikest”Β of hair.

Egg and vinegar mask

Here is what and how I made:

1. Break an egg in a bowl (I used a full one egg).

2. Mix 1 table spoon of olive oil.
3. Mix 1 table spoon of vinegar.
4. Mix all the three together.
5. Apply in the hair roots and on the hair strands.
6. Keep it on for 1-2 hours.
7. Wash your hair off.

I kept the mask for good 2 hours and when I washed my hair with a shampoo, I did not feel the need to use a conditioner. I did not apply a conditioner and my hair became very silky, shiny and smooth. Though I must admit, I had slight difficulty in managing it, but I loved keeping it open as it looked amazingly good. Okay, enough of blowing my own hair’s trumpet.

This hair mask is definitely worth trying. It works very well because egg conditions and provides protein to the hair strands. The olive oil gives the necessary moisturization and strength to the hair while vinegar is an effective cleansing agent.

I have been applying lemon juice and vinegar to my hair once a week before washing my hair and it helps me a lot in keeping dandruff at bay and it also lends a nice shine to my hair. So, if you suffer from dandruff, try one of these two:

1. Mix baking soda in shampoo and use it to wash your hair OR
2. Mix lemon juice and vinegar and apply it on hair like oil and wash off

Hope you try this and let me know how you like it. Also, just as a small testimony to the great work this mask did, have a look at the picture below. I hope you can notice the shine of the hair. Can you? Now please don’t say NO. πŸ˜€

  2. Ooh lovely shiny hair! But what did you do for the odour? I used to apply egg regularly during my hostel years. While it was nice to my hair, I hated the smell! I used to mix it with Keo Karpin, since thats the strongest smelling oil I know of. Still some eggy smell always lingered and bothered my otherwise insensitive nose. My husband has a supersensitive nose, so I haven’t tried egg on my hair of late…

  3. Yes surabhi its shining…. looks really good…. can i replace Egg??? i know its a great source of protine..but m having religious barriers… so can i use something else???
