Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Hand Cream Review

Hi friends!

If I am ever to be stranded on an island, apart from the obvious food and water essentials, I do (and yes I mean mandatorily) need a moisturizer. Let the weather be scorching warm or freezing cold you would find me involuntarily slathering moisturizer. Body lotions and hand creams occupy every slot of my closet as I keep stocking them lest I ever run out of them. I picked up Nubian Heritage’s African Black Soap Hand cream totally guided based on my olfactory senses. It smelled so amazing that there were no second thoughts about owning it.

It is packaged in black and white plastic tube with a sturdy flip top cap. The packaging is in sync with the primary ingredient of this hand cream, African black soap. It has a very travel friendly packaging for clumsy users like me :p . The cream is very thick and off-white in color. Did I mention that the fragrance is incredible! It does not have an entirely floral fragrance but more with deeper notes.

Price
4 oz. (118 ml) tube is priced at $8.99

My experience with Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Hand Cream:

The cream has a very thick consistency and it needs to be blended well. I have very dry skin and more than often, most of the hand creams that I have used earlier, tend to get absorbed immediately. But this was not the case with this hand cream. It does leave a layer on the skin, which in fact works, for my dry skin type. However it may not be feasible for oily or normal skin type.

Since the cream is mildly greasy, it tends to get transferred on to paper or articles. Hence I have to make sure to use very small blob. It is not very suitable for using while working.

However, using the hand cream at night has been very beneficial for me. The presence of oats and Aloe Vera makes it extremely moisturizing for my parched hands. African black soap present in the cream is especially helpful for treating minor skin ailments. I did find that the hand cream makes my skin soft and smoother. It also contains Shea butter along with oils, which makes it a very heavy cream.

I really like the fragrance of the hand cream. The fragrance is not entirely floral but more in similar lines of Bath and Body Works’ Sensual Amber. It might be a bit strong for sensitive noses. The fragrance continues to linger on the skin for many hours. This hand cream would be very suitable for me during the winters.

Pros of Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Hand Cream:

• Great hand cream for dry skin type.
• Travel friendly packaging.
• Very hydrating cream as it contains Oats and Aloe Vera.
• Contains butters and oils along with African black soap to provide skin softness and smoothness.
• Requires a very small amount to be used.
• Good nourishing cream for night time usage.
• Fragrance contains deeper floral and amber notes.
• More suitable to be used in extreme arid conditions and winters.

Cons of Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Hand Cream:

• Does not get completely absorbed as it leaves a greasy layer.
• Not suitable for oily or normal skin type.
• Not feasible for use while working as it transfers on papers and articles.
• Fragrance might be a bit strong for sensitive noses.

Would I buy Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Hand Cream again?
Tricky question to answer! I am in two minds about this one as it is neither a total hit nor a total miss. I would buy it again but maybe only during the winters.
