Nügg Revitalizing Face Mask Peppermint Oil & Flaxseed Review

Today I have a cute looking pack of single use face mask which claims to be 95% natural and is free from all nasty chemicals and ingredients. I would be reviewing the Revitalizing pack from the brand nügg which has a couple of more variants that I would be reviewing soon. This particular mask is 2014 Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner.

Product Description:
For a fresh, radiant look for tired skin! nügg Face Masks provide high performance, single-serve skin care in little nüggets of goodness for your skin. The nügg revitalizing face mask features a powerful blend of precious natural oils and extracts to revitalize, refresh and plump the look of dull and tired skin for a radiant, energized look and feel. Peppermint and Menthol help provide a healthy, dewy glow. Flaxseed Oil contains high level of Omega 3 which has strong antioxidant properties and helps plump the appearance of the skin.
Glycerin hydrates skin and helps soften dry skin, Aloe Juice soothes the skin and Olive/Cranberry/Grape and Linseed Oil help strengthen the skin. nügg’s break-through natural oil dispersion technology eliminates the need for damaging emulsifiers that can break down the natural skin barrier which can cause skin damage and dryness.

The nügg revitalizing face mask contains NO fragrances, NO synthetic colors, NO petrochemicals, NO sulfates and NO parabens and is formulated with 95% natural or naturally-derived ingredients. It comes in a practical & portable single-serve capsule for utmost convenience and freshness of product when used.

Directions: Apply content of one face mask capsule generously to clean and dry skin (applies like a smooth gel). Leave for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse. Use weekly or more as desired.

External use only. Avoid eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Test patch on sensitive skin.
Petroleum-Free, Contains Antioxidants, Hypoallergenic, Alcohol-Free, Paraben-Free, Fragrance-free.

How to use: Once a week, apply an entire pod’s worth of formula to clean, dry face, avoiding eyes and mouth. Let it sit for five to 10 minutes before rinsing away.

Price and Quantity: $3.29 for 10 ml @ Target.

The packaging is the most innovative thing you would notice in this mask, it is like the small jelly packs or the butter packs you get during airlines dinner or lunch. These single application packs are great for travel but they have way too much product to be used all at once but again, it’s really hard to store the unused amount  the mask itself is like a translucent, semi-opaque gel which spreads easily on the skin.

My Experience With Nügg Revitalizing Face Mask Peppermint Oil & Flaxseed:

The reason I picked up this mask…let me confess, it was purely due to the packaging 😀 but yes I completely agree the price is pretty steep for a single use mask. I honestly haven’t seen a mask packed like this, though we get a couple of food products that come in this kind of capsule packs.

The mask is a thick semi opaque gel and does glide in the skin easily but???? The ‘BUT’ is for the smell, I couldn’t stand it for even 5 minutes yuckkkk!! The mask smells exactly like “vicks vapour rub”, I am not exaggerating it resembles the smell so much that midway while applying the mask I had to read again, all the instructions because I was fearing that I might have put something wrong on my face which was not supposed to, or maybe it’s just a vapor rub for cold and flu 😀 😀

I always have a tub of vicks vapor rub as my kids get cold and cough pretty often. I compared the fragrance and you won’t believe it was 95-98% close. I couldn’t stand the strong smell for long and also had a cooling sensation so I washed it off by 5-7 minutes way earlier than I was supposed to, but the results were good. My face felt very soft and supple with a little plumping effect. I will never be getting this particular variant just for the annoying smell, but there are a few more choices, so I would get those.

Pros of Nügg Revitalizing Face Mask Peppermint Oil & Flaxseed :

  •  Natural ingredients.
  •  Free of petrochemicals.
  •  Free of parabens.
  •  Sulfate free.
  •  Synthetic fragrances or colors free.
  •  Spreads easily like gel.
  •  Gives a temporary plumping effect.

Cons of Nügg Revitalizing Face Mask Peppermint Oil & Flaxseed :

  •  Strong smell like vicks vapor rub.
  • Expensive and small amount of product for the price.

IMBB Rating: 2/5

Do I recommend Nügg Revitalizing Face Mask Peppermint Oil & Flaxseed?
No, I would recommend to stay away from this particular variant as it has too strong smell for facial application.
I have two more variants at hand now and the review is coming soon 😀

  1. Great review! Where can I buy them? THere are many face masks in packaging like this available in Japan..if the product is not finished I generally keep in my fridge..maybe that can help! But try to use within a day or two otherwise it will dry.

  2. Nice review – I have been using these masks regularly during travel but I also didnt like this particular variant
