The word “multi purpose” in a product always grabs my attention and that’s because I would be spending my money on a single product that would serve multiple purposes. Nuxe multi purpose dry oil is one product that claims to be beneficial for skin, hair and body and in winters, I need hydration everywhere, phew, dry skin problems!
Huile Prodigieuse is France’s leading beauty oil*. This multi-usage dry oil, made using six Precious Plant Oils (Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borrage. Almond, Camellia and St. John’s Wort), nourishes, repairs and softens skin and hair. It has a unique, non-greasy feel and a captivating fragrance.
My Experience with Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil:
Packaging: Nuxe dry oil comes housed in a spray glass bottle and offers 100 ml of oil. The product details are mentioned at the front of the bottle and the direction for usage and other details are printed at the back of the bottle, it’s quite hard to read since the bottle is transparent and it merges the text in the front and the back. The gold cap on the bottle is quite flimsy and cheap but the rest of the bottle looks sturdy.
First, talking about the quantity, just 100 ml oil for body, face and hair ! I mean just 100 ml won’t last even 15 days if I apply this all over, so I apply this oil at hair ends, elbow and knees and that’s generally the driest parts of my body and on the face just once in a week since I am prone to breakouts also.
The scent on this dry oil is just beautiful – it’s a fresh floral scent, which is mild and will fade away after a while after application and won’t mix up with your perfumes or deodorants. The oil itself is very moisturizing and hydrating. The oil absorbs instantly, leaving skin glowing and hydrated. It also moisturizes skin well. It doesn’t feel tacky or sticky. I have used H2O dry oil in the past and loved it too, and it was way less priced than this Nuxe. But this Nuxe one is better than H2O dry oil. I need lesser amount than h2o and it’s multi purpose too.
Since I apply this oil on my elbow and knees, I have seen drastic results on them. This oil has lightened up my elbows and knees and they look hydrated and supple. On my skin, I feel, it’s too oily even for my dry skin, it does get absorbed well, but I feel, if I apply it more than once a week, I might get breakouts. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin or cause and redness. I also apply this in under-eye area to provide a boost of hydration.
When it comes to hair, I need at least 4 to 5 sprays for my damaged dry ends and it doesn’t make them look oily or greasy. Instead it adds shine and my hair becomes manageable. It also helps detangle my hair, which is quite a task for me. My hair also feels soft the next day.
I tend to apply Nuxe oil after I shampoo my hair. I apply Moroccan oil and Nuxe oil also for best results.
Overall, I like this product but I don’t think I would be repurchasing it since it doesn’t do much and even while applying it, the bottle becomes slippery and I feel it will slip from my hand and smash into pieces.
