Nuxe Sun SPF 30 Delicious Cream For Face High Protection Review

Hi Beauties,

I think everyone in India (or at least on IMBB) knows about the importance of sun protection. It can be in the form of some physical barrier (like a cloth covering the face for people living in deserts, and also for girls seated on a bike behind their boyfriends!!!). It can be in the form of sunscreen creams, lotions, sprays, powders, and also in the form of sunblock (remember cricket matches where cricketers have some white lines applied on their faces – well, that’s sunblock). Sun protection is very important, especially in this 21st century. The mankind has done its best efforts to alter the original form of the earth. Cutting down of trees, industrial gases, vehicular pollution have slowly changed the environment, the effects of which we are seeing now. The protective ozone layer is being eroded, and we have become more exposed to the harmful UVA and UVB rays. This not only causes premature ageing, tanning and sun spots, but also causes skin cancer. So, I would appeal to everybody, before starting my review today. Please help Mother Earth. Plant more trees, use recyclable materials, and try to keep pollution to as minimum as possible. Please select any stretch of land, and go and plant saplings, so that we can provide protection to our little ones. We can also teach our kids the importance of trees, and plant saplings on their birthdays, so we can see the plants growing into trees just like our kids turn into responsible adults.  Today’s review is about a sunscreen which I picked up during my recent trip. I had heard many good things about this brand, and decided to purchase my most favourite beauty skin care item, a sunscreen.

My Experience with Nuxe Sun SPF 30 Delicious Cream For Face High Protection:

Nuxe has introduced five new sun care products under the umbrella of Nuxe Sun. It has Nuxe Sun Fondant Cream for Face SPF50, Nuxe Sun Delicious Cream for Face SPF30, Nuxe Sun Milky Spray Face and Body SPF20, Nuxe Sun Refreshing After Sun Lotion and Nuxe Sun Tanning Oil Face and Body SPF 10. My bad luck was that the SPF 50 cream was out of stock, so I purchased this SPF 30 cream.

First of all, I want to reiterate the point that SPF 30 is the minimum SPF protection we must use in India. Being close to the equator, we are more susceptible to the harsh rays of the sun.

The product comes in an orange color box with all details written over it. Inside the box, is a similar orange color tube with a flip cap, containing 50 ml product. The cream inside is creamy yellow in color, with a nice consistency. It is neither very runny, nor a thick cream.  A very small amount of product is needed for the entire face and neck area. It spreads easily on the skin, and does not leave any whitish cast after blending. The smell is indeed good (delicious), however, I could have personally done without the fragrance in my skin care product.

The sunscreen gets absorbed very easily into the skin. For optimum protection, Nuxe advises that it should be reapplied every 2 hours. If you apply a very little amount, then you will be left with a very nice and soft feel on the skin. However, even a bit of excess will leave your skin dewy. It is most suitable for dry to normal skin types, especially in the winters. It may be skipped by oily skin types, and in the present humid conditions, unless you will be working in an AC environment. I usually apply this, then blot it with my MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder.  It can be used instead of your routine day time moisturiser, rather than on top of it.

Now the part of tanning.  Nuxe describes that it gives a nice, sublime tan to the skin. This may be required by the people facing harsh cold, where they crave for sun and even tanning. However, we in India don’t really need any tanning creams, as we usually tan very easily. This part had me worried. However, to my relief and contrary to the company’s claims, I found that it provides me with a good sun protection, and does not cause any tanning at all.

Would I Repurchase Nuxe Sun SPF 30 Delicious Cream For Face High Protection?

No.

All in all, I found this to be a good sunscreen, but overpriced. You may use it or you may skip it, not totally essential to your skin’s well being. We have got so many effective sunscreen products already available in India, this one is not a must have.

  1. I second that view Arpita, to plant more trees for a better future *haan ji* You are so right, SPF 30 is the minimum protection factor.

  2. For planting a single tree, it is said in Islam that it brings good deeds for the entire life because people, animals and environment benefit from it 🙂 nice review Arpita 🙂
