How to Apply:

NYC City Proof Matte Long Lasting Blur Lip Color comes in a twistable plastic case with two sides. One side houses the lip color while the other side has a sponge applicator, which you can use for smudging to create an ombre look. The product is sealed, which is good. There is basic information on the sealed packaging, and the pencil has very less information to offer. The lip color has sturdy caps at both ends. However, the one on the sponge applicator is a bit flimsy. The screw cap that houses the lip color closes very well and makes the product travel-friendly.

The lip color looks almost like a lip pencil with a wider diameter. The thickness makes it easier to apply the color on the corner of the lips. However, the quantity provided is pretty less for the price. The lip color lasts for hardly 1-1.5 months. Also, it has a mild, pleasant smell.

The shade, “Manhattan Mauve” is a very light pinkish-mauve color. I picked the color without swatching, and I thought it would be a true mauve shade. Unfortunately, it is lighter than I expected. The shade is a good nude shade for everyday wear. The color makes my lips look healthy and covers the dark lips. The lip color is very creamy and soft. It does glide very well and easily but is prone to breakage.

The product can be buildable for prolonging the wear time but, it doesn’t intensify the color and stays pinkish. The color stays on my lips for around 4-5 hours after which it fades away evenly. The lip color provides a bit of moisturization to the lips. However, I would prefer using a lip balm to even out my lips before application.

The lip color provides a matte finish, and I use the sponge applicator to dab some powder, and with this, the lasting power goes up to 7-8 hours which is pretty good for a drugstore brand. The product has minimal transfer and doesn’t bleed. Overall, it is a pretty good product except that it breaks easily and the quantity is very less.
