New York Color is an easily available and affordable brand in the States, and has loads of cosmetics under its umbrella. I am trying out a few products from this brand and I am quite liking them. So, let’s talk about today’s product – City Proof Extended Wear Lip Gloss Midnight Rose. I love wearing deep kohl on a daily basis. However, I was tired of sporting light pink and mauve shades to balance out the look. Bright shades look over the top especially in formal settings and that’s why I thought of trying something neutral yet different. I picked up this lip gloss to use it for daily wear and to sport with smoky eyes or heavy makeup. Let me confess, I hated lip gloss until I found this one. Curious? My Experience with NYC Up To 8HR City Proof Extended Wear Lip Gloss Midnight Rose:

Packaging: The gloss comes in a simple cute transparent tube filled with the dusty rose colored liquid. It has a doe-foot applicator which aids in perfect and precise application. The brand name is printed in catchy font.

Before I tell you about this product, let me describe my apathy towards glosses. I hate sticky, extremely shiny glosses which attract stares while walking down the road. I never found a subtle lip gloss, whose formula was comfortable and non-sticky. Neutral glosses also tend to make my lips sickly and pale.

Enter this beautiful lip gloss, I can’t stop raving about. The gloss is lightweight and very slightly sticky. So my lips don’t stick momentarily each time I close my mouth. It feels so comfortable on lips and does impart the “something slimy is there on my lips” feeling.

The color is a beautiful neutral shade with minute and barely noticeable shimmer. I can’t describe the shade, but it’s just a tad bit darker than my lip color and will serve as a MLBB lip gloss for most complexions. It gives a full, luscious pout without a vibrant color- it looks naturally s*xy. You can wear it to work, you can wear it to parties, you can wear it on bare lips or over a darker shade – this gloss is as versatile as that.

It stays for around 4-5 hours without drinking and eating, and shows slight fading if you consume something. It doesn’t leave behind any tint, and it’s very easy to do reapplications using the doe-foot applicator. The gloss doesn’t dry out lips or settle in fine lines. It has a yummy candy smell, so you might end up licking it. Overall, no major complaints from this gloss and I am loving this!

Also, I am attaching a photo I bought in the last couple of weeks, so you can imagine what and how much more I will be buying in the next two months of my stay.
