NYC products are quite affordable and I loved their lip products, so I got a couple of eyeshadows from the brand to try. Here is the review of an eyeshadow trio “Central Park Plums” from NYC HD Color Trio Eyeshadow range.

My Experience with NYC HD Color Trio Eyeshadow Central Park Plums:
The packaging is cute and fuss free. It comes in a small palette housing the three eyeshadows. The case has a transparent cover, but is prone to attracting fingerprints and dust, especially after the seal has been removed. It has NYC logo printed, the back of the palette has basic product details. It is very travel friendly, easy to slip in sling bags or big clutches too, and is made of sturdy plastic. There is an additional thin cover over the palette which protect it and has labels. There is also a small brush.
There are three colors obviously in here – the first is a pinkish gold shade meant to be used as a highlighter. It is a pretty shade which I use mainly for highlighting my brow bone or my inner corner. The second is a slightly coppery brown shade, which is meant to be used all-over the lid. It is a nice color, but on my tanned skin, it doesn’t show up well and serves better as a highlighter for me, but it gives a nice wash of color on lids, without looking gaudy. The third is a crease color, which is a beautiful maroon-plum shade. I got this palette mainly for this shade, as I like slightly burnt colors on my lids. The shades can be worn by all. The finish is satiny which prevents the colors from looking flat.
Coming to the texture. These powders are soft, non-chalky shadows. The texture is finely milled, and very soft to touch. But it tends to crumble a lot and kicks up a lot of powder in the palette. They are easy to blend and there is some amount of fall out.
These shadows lack pigmentation, especially if you blend, they are hardly noticeable. So, you need to swipe them multiple times to get buildable color. The second color, that is the lid color disappears, so I need more product to build it up. These shadows work better when wet and show up properly. The staying power is around 4 hours on my oily, unprimed lids and a primer increases longevity by 2 hours or so.
This is a decent palette with beautiful colors, priced affordably. If you are in the US, you can try it because it costs less than 4 dollars, but I am not really gung-ho to use this trio again and again, probably, I will look for similar shades in other brands.
