NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer Review

By Kajol Dave

Hey all,

I hope winter is treating everyone well. I recently purchase a lot of different products and came across this primer. It is not a new one but I always wanted to give this one a try because the pack says `Skin Perfecting’ primer. Who doesn’t want perfect skin, right? Anyways, I have a love-hate relationship with this primer. Read on to know my thoughts.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane , Polysilicone-1, Cyclohexasiloxane,Glyceryl Stearate, Nylon-12, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Laureth-12, Alumina, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Phenoxyethanol, Titanium Dioxide

My Experience with NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer:

Packaging: The packaging is quite basic and travel friendly. It comes in a small tube-type bottle with a pink cap. There are two sizes in the product, regular and large. I got the regular one because I wanted to first try it out.
Texture: The primer comes out white and it feels like butter (I am not even kidding!). When you apply it to your face, it feels incredible and silky.

I want to first talk about what I hate regarding this primer. The first thing is that it leaves a white cast on the skin if you don’t blend it out well. It settles too quickly into the skin which might restrict the blending process if you are not quick. The first time I tried it, I had a white cast on my face and it looked weird. Other than that, it controls oil only for 3 to 4 hours and does nothing to the fine lines or spots on the skin.
But leaving all this aside, what I love about the primer is the smooth texture and feel of it. It does not perfect the skin but it did work well for my pores. It is not as good as other pore-erasing primers I have used but I like how it felt on the skin. It made the foundation go on easily and held it on the skin for about 7 hours. The primer is oil free and it does help in controlling the oils in the skin for at least 4 hours which is not bad. Other than that it barely has any fragrance which again is good.

I must add that this primer will not give you a dewy look. If you have dry skin, go for a dewy foundation when using this primer. It is a lightweight primer quite good for those who don’t have blemishes to fix. If you have medium-sized pores and want smooth-looking, skin then go for this primer. It is not great but it is not bad either. I am going to use this with different foundations to continue testing it. Just be careful with the amount you use, otherwise you might end up with white patches on the face.
