How are you all doing? I am experimenting a lot with makeup these days. And currently, I am obsessed with highlighters. I just love the glowy finish it gives. I have a creamy stick highlighter and also a powdery one. I was looking for a liquid highlighter for long, but most of them are available in pink or silvery undertones which won’t look good on my skin. When I saw this “Pure Gold Born to Glow Highlighter” on the NYX website, I knew this is the one for me. Find out how this highlighter worked for me, in the review below:
Enjoy a luminous, lit-from-within glow all year long with our luxuriously lightweight Liquid Illuminator. Now available in four light-catching shades, this multi-functional formula can be used as a foundation base or over cheekbones, décolletage, and Cupid’s bow for a natural-looking radiance that’ll have everyone talking.
My Take on NYX Born to Glow Pure Gold Liquid Illuminator:
Most NYX products are amazing in terms of colour payoff, staying power and texture. This Born to Glow highlighter is no exception. Let’s get into the details.
This highlighter comes in a small plastic tube with a cap black cap that shuts tightly, so you can easily carry this to your beach vacations to get the sun-kissed glow. The colour of the tube matches the colour of the product, so if you have more than one variant of these illuminators in your stash, you can easily identify the one you need. Also, a little product comes out of the nozzle at a time, so you can build up the glowy look without going overboard. The ingredient details are mentioned at the back of the tube.
The texture of this product is like a liquid foundation, but it is super easy to blend and feels amazingly lightweight. It never feels cakey on the skin and also gives a soft, moisturized feel. There is a very faint smell of chemical that is not at all detectable when you are applying it.
I have used it in multiple ways and all the results are different and good. I have used it beneath the foundation, mixed it with the foundation, used it for a strobing effect and also beneath a powdery highlighter to make it even more prominent.
The golden colour looks beautiful on anyone with yellow, olive or neutral undertone. For Indian dusky beauties, this is the best colour from the range for highlighting your face. The effect can look either subtle or very prominent depending on how you are using it and how much product you are using. It never highlights the dry patches and also does not make the face oily. It also looks pretty good in flash photography.
It stays on for 7-8 hours easily without making the face oily. The subtle glow stays on throughout the day, which is definitely a big advantage of using this product.
