My Experience with NYX Butter Gloss – Ginger Snap:
NYX, being a very economical brand does not generally have a big and classy packaging. The gloss comes in a colour coded plastic bottle which helps in identifying the shade easily. It has a plastic cap which holds the applicator. The details as to the name, number and ingredients of the shade are written on the plastic bottle itself. The applicator is good enough for the purpose. The bottle of the lip gloss is small and sturdy and hence, it is travel-friendly.
Ginger Snap is a pretty everyday wearable brown shade. It is neither too dark nor too light. It’s just like the perfect hot chocolate colour. It will suit all Indian skin tones. There are no shimmers and the pigmentation is darker than a lip gloss but lighter than a lipstick. This lip gloss does not have an opaque coverage and is pretty sheen on the lips.
Texture and Pigmentation:
These lip glosses are truly buttery soft in texture. It glides on the lips effortlessly. The consistency of these glosses is neither very watery nor very thick. It has a perfect consistency and can be applied easily. The pigmentation is good and imparts a sheen thick layer on the lips. Since this one is not that opaque, one might need to layer it a few times. But, I can see the strokes of the sponge on the lips if too much is applied on my lips. Even with layering, it does not feel heavy or sticky on the lips. I could see it settling down into fine lines. It does not bleed, though.
Being a gloss, I didn’t expect it to last longer and I was right. It hardly lasts like 2-3 hours and that too without eating or drinking at all. Once you start eating and drinking it will be all gone from your lips and transfers onto the cutlery. It will not survive a complete meal. It leaves a brownish tint behind which looks like our natural lip colour. It is not overly moisturising(remember I have super dry lips) but, feels like a balm on the lips.
