My Take on NYX Butter Lip Balm – Red Velvet:
I am a huge fan of the “butter” range from NYX cosmetics. I have tried out their butter lip gloss, butter lipsticks, and butter lip balms and they are all amazing! 🙂 These might be called butter “lip balms,” but for me, it is a multipurpose product. Read on more to know about these amazing babies! The shade that I am reviewing today is called “Red Velvet.” It is a bright red shade which is again not over the top.
The first and foremost thing you would notice upon applying these balms on your lips is how superbly pigmented they are. These might be tinted lip balms, but they are more pigmented than the normal drugstore lipsticks. It is not just immensely pigmented, it also provides adequate moisturization for my dry lips and makes them baby soft in no time. I also use this sometimes as a blush too 😛 🙂
After 6 hours, chatting, sipping, and snacking:
I have been using this like crazy, and still not half way through! Maybe because they are well-pigmented and moisturize lips till they last and stay for a long long time! I would have needed two of Maybelline’s baby lips if not!
Pros of NYX Butter Lip Balm – Red Velvet:
- Pretty Red which is not over the top.
- Crazy pigmentation.
- Smooth soft lips in no time! Hydrates and moisturizes dry lips adequately.
- Neither shiny or matte finish.
- Multi-purpose product for me. You would never need a lip balm, lipstick, or blush if you have this, comes handy during travels.
- Buttery texture, feels very light on the lips. No waxy feeling here.
- Long lasting – though the color fades a little bit, it leaves behind a nice even tint. Love love it!
- Very affordable – even cheaper than Maybelline’s Baby Lips! 🙂
Cons of NYX Butter Lip Balm – Red Velvet:
- Transfers easily, but who cares! Nothing really apart from this.00
Move over Baby Lips. Go get the Butter-y ones!! I wanna get all the other shades too!
P.S : Sorry for the Baby Lips comparison throughout, I couldn’t help. BTW Baby Lips are my Ex-Favs 😛
